cmouse, that basket is cute.

then you have a stash of quilts... Grin...believe me, I have boxes of them...
I wish i had boxes of quilts!

quaggy, i love what you did with the tray and keys. I love keys!

Kook, i always love seeing your clothes!

I've almost exclusively been knitting hats this year... i just can't seem to stop.

So, here are hopefully all the ones i haven't posted yet (if i repost any, sorry):

Baby hat for Hank:

Mouse Rat:

I had some leftover Plymouth Haciendo from a few years ago. It's thick and thin and soooooo soft.

Initially supposed to be an adult-sized hat, it actually best fits my 2-year-old nephew. Haha.

I saw that little cable on something a friend knit and immediately started trying to figure it out.

I first knit this in January and have since recreated it 3 times as i try to write up the pattern in a way other people will understand. Here are 2 of them, the other is still unphotographed.

For my sister's first son's first year, i made a hat for him each month. And now i'm doing the same for her new son. We recycled his first month hat, but here's month 2:

His Easter basket, which just happens to match:

The inside. I love crochet spirals.

Mariners coffee sleeve:

Most of these have been done since January, but not blocked.

This was supposed to be an adult hat, but it's a much better fit for kids. I mean look at my nephew's face.

Another Mariners hat, not my favorite:

Playing with cables:

Working on writing up a pattern. Needs to be blocked.

Actually just finished a third one, too.

Mouse Rat (might be the first in a long line of Parks and Rec hats...:

Baby hat for Hank:

I reknit my blue diamond hat, and it's currently blocking.
I also have a cabled hat blocking. Smiley

quaggy, i am so into that Wonder Woman mug rug!

dulcet, the purple hat and blanket for expecting niece are so beautiful! Great colors on your giant granny square.

trina, really love your chakra wand. So pretty.

CLM! Congratulations! How exciting!

bushbaby, your silk shawl looks divine. I bet it feels amazing.

always, did you say you don't like plaid??

I've been on a major hat knitting kick, and i basically lived at my sister's house for 3 weeks to help out when my nephew was born, and have therefore destashed very little of late...

But. These 2 were from stash!
Baby hat for a little girl named Molly. It matches a blanket i knit for her last year.

I really like the blue/tan one, that1girl. Great colors together. And i love the hood.

alteredmommy, very pretty lacework. I'm sure it will look great on your sister's giant hair. Wink

I've been in a very hat mood. I made a bunch of Seahawks hats leading up to the Super Bowl.

A much better fit:

A more understated hat:

Same as before, different yarn.

Beast Mode (it says YEAH all over)

My baby nephew's name is Kamden, so i made him a Bam Bam Kam hat.

It's a little small, so i made him another one.

Keeping with my wanting to further myself, here's one of my favorites.

The inside looks cool, and i kind of like the little spine up the back.

17  The First Step in Knitting: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: January 26, 2015 05:16:19 PM

I'm not a stranger to colorwork. I'm also not a master. That's why my knitting goal this year is to do more. Not just colorwork, just more in general. I want to learn and practice more stitches. I want to design more. I would love to one day have a pattern published. So, more.

This is the first step.

I made this up as i was knitting. It's nothing spectacular, nothing outrageous, but it's more interesting than the stuff i usually make up.

I didn't have high hopes in the process, but i actually like how it turned out. I hope this is the kick in the pants that will help me grow.

karin - in the last picture of your blog post, with the 3 cups and saucers... i adore the one on the right. The flowers almost exactly match the flowers on an old handkerchief i inherited from my grandma.

bushbaby - that blanket looks great!

Here's what i've photographed.

My first step toward pushing myself with my knitting this year. Learning and practicing new stitches, more colorwork, more designing.

Double thick brim hats keep popping up on instagram. Each one seems to be cuter than the last, so i decided to give it a shot.

LimeRiot sent me this yarn as part of a giveaway almost 3 years ago. I knit a hat with it not long after i got it, but i really didn't like the hat, so it just sat there for a long time. I decided to do something else. I loved it before blocking, but now it feels really loose, and i might end up re-knitting it.

P.S. The yarn is Cascade 128 Superwash. It was a dream to knit. It felt like a cloud in the bath. I love it. And i need more.

And now... the stashghan.

It's been on my bed since i finished. I love it.

Love it, lola! I've also had that pattern in my library for a long while.

Okay, here's what i have photographed.

I think i might need to redo this one. I loooved it before blocking, but now it feels way too loose. The yarn is Cascade 128, which i got from LimeRiot in a giveaway some time ago (as in almost 3 years ago). It's hard to capture the color. It's navy with green throughout. Looking at it, it mostly looks blue. But when i try to take pictures, it's either too blue or too green.

(It was seriously a dream to knit. And when it was in its bath, it felt like a cloud. It's like my favorite thing right now.)

I keep seeing pictures of hats on instagram with double thick brims. I never really cared, but since i keep seeing them pop up in such pretty colors, each one has started looking cuter than the last. So, i gave it a go.

I just love knitting these oatmeal hats with blasts of color.

I've gotten several requests for these lately. Unfortunately, Jo-Ann was completely out of Seahawks colors yesterday... Just in time for the Super Bowl.

It needs some work, the top is not at all what i wanted it to be, but people don't seem to care.

My goal for this year is to push myself. More colorwork. Learning and practicing stitches i don't usually use. This was my first step in that direction. Nothing crazy. A little colorwork, some slip stitches, but the vertical striping at the crown was new.

Okay, i finally have a couple photos to post. Both hats are in Seahawks colors.

Here's my peaked cap. I still need to add the buttons, but i figured i'd take a picture of it, anyway.
