1  Spoopy Beanie in Knitting: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: September 16, 2015 12:06:50 AM
Hey, remember SPOOPY? I don't know if it's still a thing, but i had the itch to make some Halloween stuff this year, and as i was sketching out some ideas, SPOOPY popped into my head and wouldn't leave.

2  Western Vikings Beanie in Knitting: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: September 15, 2015 11:40:17 PM
A friend recently graduated from high school and will be heading to Western Washington University this week. And i like giving gifts (especially when they're completely unexpected), so i decided to knit her a hat.

I looked up the school colors because although i have numerous friends who have gone there, i've never known what the official colors are, and i'm kind of a stickler about that kind of thing... but there were probably 10 different (random) "official" colors listed on different sites, and really the only colors you'll find on any of the school apparel are navy, grey, black, and white. So i ditched the idea of trying to do the school logo (which is either a minimalist mountain or creepy viking), and copied one of the beanies from the online store.

She was very surprised and put it on immediately. I hope it will get a lot of use this fall/winter.

3  Seahawks 2015 Sideline Beanie in Knitting: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: September 15, 2015 11:06:29 PM

While watching the first Seahawks preseason game, i noticed one player on the sidelines wearing the newest sideline beanie. Almost immediately after seeing it, i couldn't remember which color went where. I didn't take a picture of the screen. I coudn't find ANY pictures of it on the interwebs. I had to wait an entire week for the next preseason game and hope the weather would be cool enough for somebody to be wearing one so i could make my own. And it was, and Richard Sherman was! So i took a picture and finished the hat i was working on so i could cast on this one.

My friend, who already owns 2 of my Seahawks hats, requested a matching pair for her and her daughter.

Now my dad wants one.

Those Everyday People Hats look great. Love the colors. What stitch is it, anyway?

My nieces are definitely getting Anna hoods. So cute.

Have i really only posted 2 hats in here so far?? Wow. Okay. Here are a few more.

Birthday hat for a 6-year-old:

Man, i could have sworn i had a ton more.

quaggy, i want to live in your stash.

Kook, i can't wait to see your jeans! I know they're going to be awesome.

dulcet, those skirts! Oh, my gosh!!

Here's some stuff i've done recently.

This TREAT YO SELF hat was SO. FUN. to design. (Retta even gave me a thumbs up on twitter. Cheesy) It's inspired by the Treat Yo Self 2017 cake from the finale. And there are mimosa flutes going around the back.

This sweater. Technically, i bought the yarn for the sweater... but that was months ago. So by the time i knitted it, the yarn was technically stash. Right? Maybe not, but i'm so happy about it i have to share with you girls.
Blocking, pre-buttons:

I've been hanging onto these buttons for a long time. I love them.

Okay, last picture. This is me this morning, about to take it out for its first official outing.

Here's the free pattern, for anybody interested. Grunge Cardi by Vanessa Townley.

My nephew is 3 months old today, so this is his 3 hat. It's a palm tree on a beach because my sister and her family are going to Hawaii tomorrow. Oh, hey, there's a 3. That matches a theme this month!

I'm sure there are other things i haven't posted yet, but i don't have much time right now. I just really wanted to share these.

cmouse, that basket is cute.

then you have a stash of quilts... Grin...believe me, I have boxes of them...
I wish i had boxes of quilts!

quaggy, i love what you did with the tray and keys. I love keys!

Kook, i always love seeing your clothes!

I've almost exclusively been knitting hats this year... i just can't seem to stop.

So, here are hopefully all the ones i haven't posted yet (if i repost any, sorry):

Baby hat for Hank:

Mouse Rat:

I had some leftover Plymouth Haciendo from a few years ago. It's thick and thin and soooooo soft.

Initially supposed to be an adult-sized hat, it actually best fits my 2-year-old nephew. Haha.

I saw that little cable on something a friend knit and immediately started trying to figure it out.

I first knit this in January and have since recreated it 3 times as i try to write up the pattern in a way other people will understand. Here are 2 of them, the other is still unphotographed.

For my sister's first son's first year, i made a hat for him each month. And now i'm doing the same for her new son. We recycled his first month hat, but here's month 2:

His Easter basket, which just happens to match:

The inside. I love crochet spirals.

Mariners coffee sleeve:

Most of these have been done since January, but not blocked.

This was supposed to be an adult hat, but it's a much better fit for kids. I mean look at my nephew's face.

Another Mariners hat, not my favorite:

Playing with cables:

Working on writing up a pattern. Needs to be blocked.

Actually just finished a third one, too.
