1  Re: how many hats can you knit 2016 in Knitalongs by bananaleg on: February 25, 2016 12:09:40 AM
Okay, here's what i have photographed.

Go Cougs for my brother's girlfriend.

Duke Silver, my latest Parks & Rec-themed hat. It even has saxophones around the back.

Improvised diamond design.

Packers Sideline Beanie.

My brother's friend recently took over a local children's theater, and she asked me to make them some hats. It's called Neverland Theater, and their logo is Peter Pan flying with a big crescent moon.

Originally wanted this for myself, but it's a little too small, and perfect for my nephew. It's the rebel alliance starbird from Star Wars, and i used duplicate stitch.

Tacoma used to have a soccer team, years ago, and they came back last year! It's pretty exciting. They're called the Tacoma Stars, and i'm really happy that they're sticking with the original colors and logo, and everything.

I'm still not confident enough in my pattern-writing abilities to publish this pattern, so instead i just keep knitting them myself. I think i've knit 3 so far this year, but i still need better photos.

My cousin just had a baby named Spencer.

Newest design. Still trying to name it. And write the pattern for other people. The first 2 are slouchy, the second 2 are snug beanies.

Hahaha! I like the new title. Seeing as i far exceeded the 15 in 2015, i accept this challenge. I'm hoping to not be so MIA this year.

3  Spoopy Beanie in Knitting: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: September 16, 2015 12:06:50 AM
Hey, remember SPOOPY? I don't know if it's still a thing, but i had the itch to make some Halloween stuff this year, and as i was sketching out some ideas, SPOOPY popped into my head and wouldn't leave.

4  Western Vikings Beanie in Knitting: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: September 15, 2015 11:40:17 PM
A friend recently graduated from high school and will be heading to Western Washington University this week. And i like giving gifts (especially when they're completely unexpected), so i decided to knit her a hat.

I looked up the school colors because although i have numerous friends who have gone there, i've never known what the official colors are, and i'm kind of a stickler about that kind of thing... but there were probably 10 different (random) "official" colors listed on different sites, and really the only colors you'll find on any of the school apparel are navy, grey, black, and white. So i ditched the idea of trying to do the school logo (which is either a minimalist mountain or creepy viking), and copied one of the beanies from the online store.

She was very surprised and put it on immediately. I hope it will get a lot of use this fall/winter.

5  Seahawks 2015 Sideline Beanie in Knitting: Completed Projects by bananaleg on: September 15, 2015 11:06:29 PM

While watching the first Seahawks preseason game, i noticed one player on the sidelines wearing the newest sideline beanie. Almost immediately after seeing it, i couldn't remember which color went where. I didn't take a picture of the screen. I coudn't find ANY pictures of it on the interwebs. I had to wait an entire week for the next preseason game and hope the weather would be cool enough for somebody to be wearing one so i could make my own. And it was, and Richard Sherman was! So i took a picture and finished the hat i was working on so i could cast on this one.

My friend, who already owns 2 of my Seahawks hats, requested a matching pair for her and her daughter.

Now my dad wants one.

My nieces are definitely getting Anna hoods. So cute.

Have i really only posted 2 hats in here so far?? Wow. Okay. Here are a few more.

quaggy, i want to live in your stash.

Kook, i can't wait to see your jeans! I know they're going to be awesome.

dulcet, those skirts! Oh, my gosh!!

Here's some stuff i've done recently.

This TREAT YO SELF hat was SO. FUN. to design. (Retta even gave me a thumbs up on twitter. Cheesy) It's inspired by the Treat Yo Self 2017 cake from the finale. And there are mimosa flutes going around the back.

This sweater. Technically, i bought the yarn for the sweater... but that was months ago. So by the time i knitted it, the yarn was technically stash. Right? Maybe not, but i'm so happy about it i have to share with you girls.
Blocking, pre-buttons:

I've been hanging onto these buttons for a long time. I love them.

Okay, last picture. This is me this morning, about to take it out for its first official outing.

Here's the free pattern, for anybody interested. Grunge Cardi by Vanessa Townley.

My nephew is 3 months old today, so this is his 3 hat. It's a palm tree on a beach because my sister and her family are going to Hawaii tomorrow. Oh, hey, there's a 3. That matches a theme this month!

I'm sure there are other things i haven't posted yet, but i don't have much time right now. I just really wanted to share these.
