1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" Swap? on: August 08, 2013 07:23:50 PM
Ok I personally love the My Mlittle Pony TV show and I know I'm not the only one out there. It's cute, funny, and one of the few kids shows on anymore that actually has some intelligence and teaches something. The caracters are fantastic and it's just a fun show. And I'm sure there are some moms out there who's kids would some My Little Pony gear. I can't organize because I'm not old enough but what does everyone think? Maybe like a four or five point swap?

Or animal lovers swap i guess. I've just noticed that there are alot of specific animal swaps. But what about a swap that could be for ALL kinds of animals? I just know that i myself work at a zoo and my favorite animals are completely nonconventional  Grin Grin. I cannot organize it but just felt like suggesting it!

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Anyone know how to sew a top hat? on: May 09, 2012 01:47:11 PM
I'm in a club at my school called the Go Green Club and one of our memebers in graduating this year. She sort of invented our mascot called the earth monkey and so as a graduation present i was going to make her one  Grin. As you can see in the picture below he is wearing a top hat. I have never sewn a hat like that before and dont know how i would do it. Any suggestions? Also if anyone has a good sphere pattern with minimal seams that would be awsome too  Cheesy

Hi i justed wanted to share this red panda t-shirt i made. Red pandas are like my favorite animals ever they are just so stinken cute. So i actually only stenciled the entire shape in white using freezer paper. Then i went in and hand painted on all of the color. Hand painting is just easyier for me for some reason. So here he is Cheesy

Heres a picture of just the whole shirt

Heres more of a close up

And heres a close up of his face

I didnt know this at the time i bought the paint butapparently it has glitter in it. So hes a little bit shinnier than i had wanted lol. But i still love him. C&Q always welcome

8  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / beachy glass vases on: May 05, 2012 07:25:46 PM
I had never done a mosaic before so i tryed it out on these glass vases from Ikea. I had some shells and glass beads and thought maybe a beach theme would be cool. So i broke up yellow and blue tiles so that one could be the ocean and one could be the beach. I also used white grout so that it would look like sand. For anyone who hasnt done this before or used grout i would not not recomened doing it with such differently shaped items like i did. It was so hard to uncover my smaller shells it took me hours :/. Bt i love how they turned out Cheesy Also i have no idea what to do with these so if any of you have any ideas i would greatly appriciate them!

Here they are together

Colse up of te beach one

Close up of th ocean one

C&Q always Welcome Smiley
9  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Spirit Wolves on: May 05, 2012 07:12:36 PM
I made this for my grandparents because they just baught a cabin in North Carolina and my grandmother loves wolves . I was trying to go for a natural maybe native american-ish look to it so i didnt smoot it out very much because i wanted it to keep that natural look. The tecnique i used was scafito which is where you paint on a layer of glaze and then scratch your image into the clay. On both sides there is a fully scrached out wolf which is ment to be that natural living wolves and they are howling to there spirit ancestors which are on the top and kept them the same blue color as the glaze to show they are spirtits. I also have to moon on either side and stars which the spirits are touching.

Here is just a full shot

Here is a shot of the top

A close of of the spirit

And finally a close up of the wolf

C&Q always welcome Smiley
10  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / abstract randomness on: May 05, 2012 06:57:03 PM
I made these by taking paint and literally painting on the table Smiley it was alot of fun lol. I then took water color paper and made a print of it. I made two from the same paint because i alway comes out a little different the second time. I then took them and added black to pull out certain elements of them.

Here is the first one

And the scond one

And a shot of them together

I call them my captain america shields because thats kind of what they reminded me of with the colors and the circular shapes. I hope you enjoy! C&Q always appriciated Smiley
