More thoughts.
I am doing this on a small budget...

-want to do a cupcake tower, haven't thought about the flavors... (suggestions?)
- going to stay true to the tea party theme for reception, FINGER FOODS!!! (suggestions??) Im thinkin pigs in a blanket, scones, (draw a blank after that)

- FI is puerto rican, so i was reading on a site that it is "mandatory" that there be a doll in likeness of the bride on main table... (im just that twisted)... BRIDE OF CHUCKY!! FI laughed at me told me i was crazy.. (duh!)
 more thoughts to come
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Alice in wonderland themed wedding on 4-20 on: January 11, 2011 08:39:39 AM
Morning ladies. I have a wedding to plan in less than like 90 days.
Theme: Alice in Wonderland
FH:Mad Hatter
Bride: White Rabbit
Brides Maids: Queens of a suit (hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades)
GM: Kings of a suit
Ring Barer: Boink Twins (tweedle dee and tweedle dumb)
Flower Girl: Alice

We are thinking of doing it in a local casino that has an atrium with a small waterfall.
I have a few DIY ideas.

1. Coffee filter bouquets... haven't decided if they are going to be white... or let it be dramatical and make them red... maybe white with red tips... we will find out when the crafting commences.
2. Hair pieces for BM... are going to be their card (queen of hearts, diamonds, club and spades) thinking i am going to up play them with rhinestones, feathers, lace, somethin.
3. Center pieces... im getting some saucers and coffee/ tea cups, going to stack them and throw some beads, cards, feathers on them. Im thinking of adding tea lights some where on these, tho i dont know where.

For the wedding i am envisioning very intimate reds, white, black, then when we go to the reception, that's  it party is on.  Very whimsical, i don't want to spend a billion dollars in linens, so as i am getting the supplies for the center pieces i am looking for flat sheets. Floral designs, plain, colored, but using them for table cloths.

Will add more as I come up with ideas or to add the "look what i did" pictures.
Any ideas ladies is very welcomed. Ive seen a few of the Alice weddings on here... VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!
5  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Wizard of Oz... I don't think we in B on: November 01, 2010 09:45:02 PM
Whoops forgot to add what I had done..

1. Added the boa, the beading on the bodice of dress and on the back added some ribbon around the back tie... The arm poufs were in place of those big arm poufs from the movie. (Just an added FYI... the good witch wore a butterfly choker in the movie.. hence the necklace in the picture..)

2. The scarecrow, I added the "hay" which is felt, because my little man is allergic to almost everything that he touches... there was also a wide brimmed hat that isn't pictured Sad.

3. I made the smock out of pleather, and all the adornments. His oil can hat was reformed to look like a metal bandana... but was to match his costume...

Hope it is enjoyed. They liked their mama made costumes...

We have painted designs on these cans, desert sunsets (we live in arizona), holiday designs, punched holes in the top and wired a coat hanger (twirled around in a spiral), might have put wooden beads on them.
Given them like that to friends with baked goods in it for holidays, people have put desert sand in them and used them for butt cans. I have made a few and used them for baby showers, (went to the dollar store and filled it up with dollar store baby items)... Options are endless when tin cans are in play.
I love the bird feeder option..
