Oooh..I'm totally up for this challenge! I recently became a "house-soon-to-be-wife" and I have never really been the domestic type, so this will give me a chance to build my skills while staying on a budget!  Grin

Tonight, the boy and I had cube steak & baked red potatos, so let's see if I passed:

2 pieces of cubed steak: $2.16
2 large red potatoes, cut into quarters: $2
Salt & pepper: $.05
Olive oil: $.10
Garlic & onion powder: $.10
Worcestershire sauce: $.10

Grand total: $4.51!  Grin

I claim PhoenixFireDesigns for a Wisty surprise. Smiley

This is my 2nd claim (wow..those went fast..lol), 0 sent & 0 received.

Hi everyone! My name is Samantha (Sami), and I am a house-soon-to-be-wife. Haha..
I am 23 years old and live in South Carolina with my fiancee, Josh (an Army brat who grew up in Germany), and our very spoiled puppy, Leonidas (Leo). I am taking a semester off from school in order to figure out exactly what I want to do, but as of right now, Im pretty positive that I want to be some sort of youth counselor. Both my other half and I are huge gamers and movie buffs and spend most of our nights curled up on the couch either watching something on Netflix or playing a game.
Favorite colors include, pinks, black, greys, greens, and blues. However, I have a strong distaste for anything gold/yellow.  Themes/motifs I am partial to include creepy cute, handguns, stars, skulls/skeletons, Germany, camo (our bedroom has a camo decor..it looks a lot classier than it sounds), Coca-Cola (our kitchen has a Coke theme), Disney, things inspired by the 1940s-50s..especially if there is a futuristic or ironic twist to it, and video games.
We currently live in a small one bedroom cottage with very limited storage space, so things that serve a function are definitely preferred over strictly decorative items.
My main craft is crochet, however I have been dabbling in various other things, including candle and soap making, and Im even getting the fiance involved since Ive discovered he can make some amazing things with duct tape (wallets, roses, etc.).

15  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Stars and Scrarves..Oh My! on: January 16, 2011 12:31:03 PM
Ohh so pretty!! I love the colors you have used on the star. It's making me want to crochet something like that now. I should stop looking at all the great things on here, I have about 20 things I want to crochet now. How long does it take to crochet a star like that?
My friend loves the scarf. I think I'm going to be talked into making one of those too now. Smiley

That particular one took me almost a year, but that was because I had it in a drawer, unfinished for quite a while. lol Usually, though, I can complete one in a few days, working on it on and off.

Okay, so really it's only one star and one scarf, but after a long hiatus from crocheting I'm happy to have not only one but TWO FOs to show off. Both are made with Caron Simply Soft acrylic yarn.

I lost my father to cancer this past November, so of course I went to your website to read the whole book. It really struck a chord with me, and definitely made me shed a few tears.

Beautiful. Really beautiful.
