I had not thought of any of these things and I think I will reconsider my original layout. I am off to find PFD fabric and am seriously thinking of making it a large centre piece in case (heaven forbid!) I misplace one of the blocks!
My friend is getting married soon and I would like to make a quilt for her. I was thinking of cutting 5" squares of solid ivory fabric and have all the guests sign them with a fabric pen. There will be 35-40 guests total.
Is a 5" square large enough? Should it be larger? Should it be a rectangle instead? 4 x 6" maybe?
I was also wondering if anyone had some creative ideas on putting it together.
She's an earthy girl and I have some fabric in some taupe, beige and greens. I was thinking of alternating a signature block with a fabric block (so it's easy to do) - any other suggestions? I've quilted before but still consider myself a beginner, so I'm not up for a huge challenge!
I had a fabulous one that came with my Janome sewing machine. I don't know if they sell them seperatly or not (I lost mine and have been very sad since )
Thank you for sharing how you made this! I received a similar one at a baby shower and it is wonderful - all the baby towels out there are so thin and small while this one is thick and big and has a hood too. I've been dying to make another one, but kind of stumped as how to make it. Love the colours and the ribbon on this one. Very cute!
