1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Beach house lighting on: October 15, 2012 01:43:03 PM
Hi!  I'm hoping someone can help me come up with ideas for lighting  for our beach home.  We have a room off of our living room that has a ceiling fan (white wicker blades/white fan)  & a ceiling light fixture.  I am replacing the fixture with another.  I LOVED the Ikea Maskros hanging ball light, but even the small one was way too big & hangs too long.  My husband would like something of a novelty "beach" themed light.  We need a flush mount or a semi-flush.  I had seen a couple antique flush mounts for kids rooms that had sailboats painted on them.  Cute idea, but couldn't find any to buy.  I am crafty & can certainly take something & make it into something "beachy", but I don't want to use shells (already done that for screened patio light) & don't want a nautical pendant light.  Anyone any ideas one where to buy something cool or what to make cool?
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Coat rack from an old wood ironing board??? on: August 19, 2011 09:21:24 PM
I would like to make a coat rack for my laundry room using an antique wooden ironing board.  I was thinking of decoupaging it with photos of children doing laundry like the picture "Busy Day in Dollville" w/little girl washing the doll clothes.  Any ideas?Huh?  Suggestions??? I could also use a tabletop size metal & somehow screw the hooks into the metal & then attach to wall.  Just throwing some things around trying to decide  Smiley
3  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Skirt made of candy on: October 02, 2010 08:13:28 AM
My daughter needs a skirt made of candy.  I'd like to somehow make this for her.  She was thinking saran wrap with candy glued on.  It's an idea, but I would love to hear if anyone has made anything like this that could offer suggestions!  Thanks!!
