1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Does tulle need a hem? on: August 28, 2014 04:43:28 PM
Hello, I am altering a flower girl dress for my daughter to wear and starting hemming tonight. The skirt 3 layers, inside is satin and middle and outer are tulle. I did a rolled hem on the middle tulle and am not happy with the result. I see in lots of dress pics that it looks like they just cut the tulle. Is that correct?
TIA

Hi, I haven't posted anything on here in forever! I just finished up this quilt which was made mostly of fabric leftover from other projects. I quilted the crap out of it since I left so much black and love how it came out.
4  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Getting a new machine, have a question on: June 06, 2012 05:42:26 PM
Hi, I currently have a cheap Brother machine and I am finally able to upgrade. I want a good quilting machine and am looking for advice on what brands or even a particular model that is worth checking out. My budget is $1000.
Any suggestions???

Thanks for all the input! I went with the sashing and am in the process of quilting now. Will post pics when I finish.

I have 9 of these 24" blocks. I was planning to add 2" sashing in purple (that's the solid color, looks a little blue in pics). Now I'm not sure though. Would love some advice!

Beautiful job, I love your binding!

This is beautiful! I'm actually getting ready to start one of these. Love your fabric choice, the colors are very pretty.

I really like this! The fabrics are really cool and unexpected. I am impressed you hand quilted for your first. I just finished my first large quilt which I completely machine did (even the finishing of the binding) because I'm not patient enough for hand quilting.
BTW your puppy was adorable and looks like she was a very sweet girl. So sorry.
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / First post on: November 04, 2010 10:15:26 AM
Hi, I've been lurking around here for a little bit and finally decided to post a bag I made. It's my first without using a pattern but I did use a design at jcaroline creative for help. The fabric was a bit of a pain so I didn't bother hemming the inside top.
I would love any feedback!

Inside has a zippered pocket, organizer pocket and 2 elastic side pockets, perfect for glasses or sippy cups (original reason for them)
