I want to make something for a friend in another country and I have no idea what to make him!
He's 25, a graphic/website designer, and in a rock band.
I wanted to keep down on shipping costs since anything over $20 he has to pay a receiving fee on. I feel that's it's kind of unfair to make something for him and have him pay to get it, ya know?
Any ideas out there?

My Mom brought me a bunch of needles home one day from a friend of hers who didn't need them anymore and I found two of the pink sticks in with them. I put it next to a regular needle just for comparison, it's about the same length but the ends look like they have been cut off, anyone know what they are for?

I've been knitting for a while but not much past knit and purl. For my first real project I want to make some socks!
I was wondering what you all consider easier to start with for socks, circular or double pointed needles?

I'm (not so) patiently waiting for the waiting period to be done with so I can join my first swap! I just found craftster and am so amazed with the amount of care and craft on this site! I'm excited and nervous about participating in a swap and can't wait till the 28th rolls around!
Anyone else out there waiting like I am?

I've had fun being inspired by a lot of the artists around here! You wonderful people have inspired me to pick up my hook again and create some new stuff!

I've been looking around and testing a few brownie recipes and haven't quite found one that I like yet. Some are too cakey, some too flat, some WAYYY too sweet, and some are just baaaad. DX
Any suggestions?
