1  Impishly Cute String Dolls in Halloween Decor and Parties by 4yastaff on: September 27, 2010 05:41:43 PM
Hello all! Loving everyone's Halloween projects. I've been making Thai string dolls for the past couple of months and thought now would be a great time to share my tutorial, as we are heading into the ghoul season.  Colorful, impish and oh-so-cute, these little string doll guys make the perfect Halloween DIY project and present for teens and adults.
As you may already know, authentic Thai string dolls are handcrafted toys made from one continuous cotton string. The original Thai string dolls are quite challenging to make (lots of pins and potential unraveling), so I adapted this project into a easy to follow tutorial that captures the look without the headache.
The best part of making string dolls is that you can make virtually any little creature you want, be it from your imagination or one of your favorite characters. Dressing them is a ton of fun too. Small details really make these guys unique, so it's a great way to utilize all your left over beads, buttons, felt and other small objects.
