1  CORK COASTERS - Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Chuck Norris, The Most Interesting Man... in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by alexisBee on: January 01, 2011 12:19:58 PM

For Christmas, me and my cousins do a Secret Santa
and my cousin Alex wanted clothes and coasters...
so, since the bulk of his gift was a gift card,
I felt like I needed to give him some super special personalized coasters.
These are some of the most important men in his life!! ahaha
and I was obviously inspired by Anne Taintor~

The coasters come in a 4-pack from the 99 cent store,
the photos were collected online and manipulated in Photoshop,
then they were printed, laminated and cut out,
and then glued on with tacky glue.

Not sure how well they'll hold up, but they do look super spiffy Smiley

Sorry for the delay!
My crocheting debacle turned into pullin' an all-nighter,
and then I slept all day to prepare for a Christmas party last night.
SO
on to the fabulous package from Miss LadyUranus!!

I opened my package and revealed this lovely box, complete with all 11 doctors and the TARDIS!

A closeup of my boys.

Inside the box was a beautiful necklace with a TARDIS and some silver wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey bits

and THEN!!! The knitted goodies! Oh man! These must've taken forever!!! They are so wonderful I'm thinking I may have to frame them and put them on display in my room  Grin They are actually more of a beautiful teal than the color on the screen.

THANK YOU LADYURANUS!!!!

4  Beware the Weeping Angels... and whatever you do, DON'T BLINK in Halloween Costumes by alexisBee on: November 06, 2010 08:42:45 PM

I have recently become obsessed with Doctor Who and had been debating about what I should be for Halloween (a TARDIS? Clockwork Droid?) One of my favorite episodes is Blink but I thought I couldn't pull a Weeping Angel off in time. And then with a week to go till Halloween, my cousin convinced me otherwise  Grin While I didn't get around to making a mask, my wings turned out so fabulously, I can't really care.

**UPDATE 11/16/10**
I've added 2 photos of the dress itself. They've been in my closet, so don't mind the wrinkles  Grin The dress is actually a separate top and skirt, to make it easier to get into and out of, and the top sort of folded under on the bottom to give the billowy effect. It was the first time I've worked entirely without a pattern, so I kept it simple. Elastic was my best friend! After sewing the skirt, I separated the hula hoop (so it was no longer a continuous circle), threaded it through a thick hem on the bottom, and then reattached it. Then, I painted everything with acrylic paint, which helped to stiffen em all up a bit.

Any other questions, feel free to ask!!

Big thanks to penwiper337 at crafty_tardis for her Weeping Angel costume post. It really inspired me with mine.
