31  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Pizza Garden on: June 27, 2007 05:54:01 PM
My older kids, 8 & 10 are at camp so my 4 year old Lydia and myself decided to make good use out of a tractor tire my husband brought home.  We planted a small pizza garden with two green peppers, two oreganos, two sweet basils and some cherry tomatoes.

32  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Gotta love a garage sale overalls on: April 21, 2007 05:35:34 PM
I picked up all this fabric at two different garage/rummage sales and put it to good use by making my Daughter some patchwork overalls.
I fused all the patchwork down but folded under the edges then hand stitched the decorative stitching with black embroidery floss.

33  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Non Sew Tulle Tutu Question on: March 08, 2007 09:26:15 AM
I want to make a tulle tutu for my Daughter.  I want to make the non sew one where you cut strips and tie them to elastic.  How does everyone one cut their strips? Mine are going to be 3" wide.
Do you mark the three inch strips and cute w/ scissors or eyeball it and cut with scissors or use a rotary cutter?

Thanks!!
34  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Scottie Dog Stuffie on: February 18, 2007 03:22:35 PM
Had to try my hand at the Scottie Dogs stuffy from Allsorts.
I made this for my 10 year old Daughter who adores it. The photo is a little grainy.  I took the picture with my Daughter's camera and it doesn't do close ups real well.

35  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Cucumber/Veggie Sandwich Recipe on: February 18, 2007 08:29:30 AM
I had to add this recipe I found on Allrecipes.  I made it yesterday and it was so good.  I did omit the cream cheese and used Greek hummus instead. I added a few slices of pepper jack cheese.  I didn't have the pepperocini so I left those off but they would give the sandwich a nice kick.  Will try them next time.

INGREDIENTS
2 thick slices whole wheat bread
2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
6 slices cucumber
2 tablespoons alfalfa sprouts
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
1 tomato, sliced
1 leaf lettuce
1 ounce pepperoncini, sliced
1/2 avocado, mashed
DIRECTIONS
Spread each slice of bread with 1 tablespoon cream cheese. On one slice of bread, arrange cucumber slices in a single layer. Cover with sprouts, then sprinkle with oil and vinegar. Layer tomato slices, lettuce, and pepperoncini. Spread other slice of bread with mashed avocado. Close sandwich and serve immediately.

I am in the process of making a 16" Honey doll from Joy's Waldorf dolls and read recently that they can wear clothing made from tohe American girl doll patterns.  Does anyone know if that is true or not?
Thanks!  Grin

I made this doll for my girlfriend's Daughter, Logan, who turned 3 yesterday.  It looks just like her.  Hair and everything.

I used Hillary's Make-A-Long pattern from WeeWonderfuls for Archie and Olive.
