11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Sprout Necklace on: January 22, 2010 11:20:46 AM
Our Girl Scout troop made these sprout necklaces for a try it patch a few weeks ago.
I got the idea from Family Fun magazine.  Purchased the containers from Hobby Lobby and put an eyescrew in the lid.  The lace is the rubber stuff.  The girls put two damp cotton balls in the bottom and two lima beans.  It took a few weeks for them to sprout like this.

12  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Flutter the Sock Monkey on: December 23, 2009 09:53:16 AM
I made this sock monkey for a four year old neighbor girl for Christmas.
I wanted to make it more like a play toy.  The cloths are removable, the wings and hat also.  I posted a photo on my facebook page and got a request to make one for my friend's Daughter's birthday.  I would love to dye the sock part this time and purple or some similar color.  Might do that.

13  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Witch Crash on: October 18, 2009 08:34:08 PM
My husband put this up today.  Directions are on FamilyFun.com.

14  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Candy Scarecrow on: October 18, 2009 02:17:25 PM
I make these little scarecrows for the kids in my pre-k class for our Halloween party.

15  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Skeleton Sock Doll on: October 16, 2009 04:03:35 PM
I was flipping channels and could see Martha Stewart was doing some kind a Halloween doll.  Once I saw it was a skeleton sock doll I knew I had to make one.
Here it is.  The pattern is on her website of course.

16  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / School Locker Memory Board - UPDATE on: August 03, 2009 08:06:48 AM
I wasn't sure where to list this. My daughter is going into 7th grade and after having magnets and mirrors etc. sliding all over the inside of her locker door and falling to the bottom of the locker we decided to try something a little different.  Her wonderful Dad went down to her locker and measured the door and I made a French memory board insert for her locker door.  The cut out part is where the combination lock is on the inside.  I used three cork squares but next time I would just use one sheet of cork I think.

This is how we decorated it.  What's nice is you can decorate it at home and then bring it to school.
The flower is from her first dance recital, I added heart patches to the photo strip of her and her and her 6 year old sister, a clown pin from her clown collection, a heart from her little Sister, make a wish charm I made for her, little blocks that spell her name from a necklace she had in kindergarten, she loves Garfield so a Garfield comic strip that reads, I hate Mondays, her GS patch for selling 500 plus cookies this year, a chihuahua paper doll to represent her dog Rocky and the sailor hat for her Grandpa who was in the navy in WII, the dog card I sent her at camp, it is musical and sings about how much I like her that I would even share my french fries, she is a french fry junky, a picture of her and all her cronies from her last Birthday party at a local bowling alley and last her book mark about being a book worm.  I think it turned out cute!

17  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Silhouette on: January 31, 2009 09:15:25 PM
I teach pre-k and was looking for something to put on the cover of these scrapbooks I make of all the kids artwork etc. I give to the Mom's for Mother's Day.  I decided to do silhouettes on the cover.  This is my trial one I made with my 6 year old daughter's profile.  She has a real cute profile.  She has a little upturned nose.

I followed this tutorial

18  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Halloween Dinner on: November 01, 2008 07:28:27 AM
This is our Halloween dinner my 12 year old Daughter and I made for the rest of the family last night.  Meatloaf Mice, Ghost Potatoes & green swap beans.  The meatloaf recipe was from the Pillsbury website but any meatloaf recipe would work.

19  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Ghoul Scout Costume & Sash UPDATE on: October 30, 2008 06:26:17 PM
I saw some pretty cool Ghoul Scout sashes on Crafster so this is my take on it for my real 12 year old Girl Scout.  I had help from another Craster on making the patches.  My Daughter loves it!

This is my Daughter after trick or treating.  Her hair was cuter before we left as I had put a soda can in her ponytail to make it stick up like the twister girl costume that is posted on Crafster.

20  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Dying Question on: July 20, 2008 09:55:00 AM
I want to make a Ghoul Scout costume for my Girl Scout Daughter for Halloween.
She wanted something not too kiddish because she is starting middle school this year.

Do you think I could buy a girl scout sash (the green one) and dye it black?  They are only $5 or $6 then I could make the patches.

Thanks!
