1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: What are your Halloween costume plans for 2014? on: October 06, 2014 09:52:27 AM
Since I teach, I want to be Super Teacher - Super Hero costume.  My 11 year old is going to be a Coraline doll.
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Simple Kermit the Frog Costume on: October 06, 2014 09:50:29 AM
Here is a simple Kermit costume I made for my daughter for a muppet party she went to.  Would be fun for Halloween.
3  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Coraline Wig Color? on: October 06, 2014 09:16:08 AM
I am putting together a Coraline costume.  I have decided to go with the 14" EpicCosplay Chronos Wig.  The costume is going to be worn outdoors at night. I think the blue/black fusion is more Coraline's color. My concern is it will be too dark at night and look black.  My other option is the dark blue?  Any thoughts?

Thanks!  Grin

4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Doctor Who Tardis Melted Crayon Art on: December 29, 2013 05:07:06 PM
I made the shape with scotch tape.  Painter's tape might work better.  I did have minor seepage of the crayon so I covered it with gesso. Then I painted everything on. This is the tutorial I followed.  http://daughterofgallifrey.wordpress.com/2012/06/18/doctor-who-crayons-zomg/
I did use a heat gun, like an embossing gun. Melts much better than a blow dryer.  Also, I got the blue crayons from Target.  They have small packs of all blue. Surprisingly, I have a big pack of crayons and pulled all the blues out and there wasn't that much.  I just used the cheapo acrylic paint from Walmart. I also bough a multipack of different size paint brushes that also included a few narrow foam ones which I used to paint the blue on the tardis.
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Doctor Who Tardis Melted Crayon Art on: December 29, 2013 10:03:52 AM
So I made this for my 17 year old Whovian daughter for Christmas. I followed a tutorial I found on the web. I think it turned out pretty nice. Now I am working on a Barbie Weeping Angel for her. Wish me luck!!!
6  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Colored Contacts? on: October 08, 2013 05:33:48 PM
Can someone recommend colored contacts that aren't outrageously priced since they will only be used a few time this Halloween?

Thanks!
7  MASTER CRAFTSTERS / Elmer's Products / Re: Zentangle High Heels - featuring Elmer's products on: August 02, 2012 10:44:38 AM
Thanks.  I wonder if I could seal it some how.  I wish I had an extra case!  Grin

I really love these shoes.  I would like to do this on my daughter's clarinet case.  I think that would look cool. Do you think the Elmer's paint would work? She has an old case and it would be nice to spruce it up.  She would be jazzed!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help Recon. T-shirt to Dress? on: July 16, 2012 07:30:08 AM
Thanks. My daughter is really into the human body.

Appreciate it.
10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Dharma Supersoft Inkjet Transfer Paper? on: July 16, 2012 07:29:05 AM
Hi All!

I am ordering some Dharma Trading Company Supersoft Injet Transfer Paper.  Has anyone had any experience with it. It seems to get good reviews.  How about on colored knits? I know it can't be used on dark colors but how light?

Thanks!
