2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: A burning question on: September 26, 2010 05:20:16 PM
Thanks for your suggestions.  Wouldn't you know, over the weekend she changed her mind and decided to be a queen.   Roll Eyes We found a suitable Simplicity pattern online and ordered it.  I also ordered red panne velvet for it, at just a little over $4 a yard, which I thought was a pretty good price.  I will try to post a picture when it is done (I hope...I'm still fairly new to this posting picture thing). Kiss
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / A burning question (for Minnie Mouse costume for a not so mini person) on: September 24, 2010 05:10:32 AM

Hi--I'm new to Craftster, and I hope someone here might have suggestions.  My 16-year old daughter wants to be a "sexy minnie mouse" for Halloween.  I have been sewing for many many years, and created many costumes without patterns, but this is puzzling me.  I have found a source for red and white polka dot fabric. Thing is, much as I love her, she is not "mini" size, but very heavy.  For example, how do I sew a flouncy skirt for someone with a very plus-size waist?

Any and all suggestions will be very much appreciated.
