1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Wool Slouchy Beanie on: January 30, 2012 06:04:28 PM
I decided I wanted to learn to crochet a while ago so I bought myself some hooks and yarn, surfed YouTube when I got home and I've been 'hooked' ever since!  (Pun shamefully intended!)  Here is a 100% wool slouchy beanie I made for my mother-in-law.  In addition to being allergic to acrylic her head is in between a child's and an adults size, which makes finding a proper hat next to impossible for her, so I offered to make her a custom-fit hat.  I'm happy with how it turned out and she loves it, so I consider it a win, but any tips/suggestions/criticisms are welcome!   Grin

I apologize for the picture quality - I had to take this with my laptop camera.
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: [More] Feather Paintings! on: April 05, 2011 01:41:35 PM
I never would have thought to paint on feathers.  These are gorgeous!
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Earrings on: January 20, 2011 08:43:58 AM
A necklace would work...or they look like they'd make great bracelet charms, too.  Or attached to hair clips?
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Felt Bats on: January 10, 2011 05:39:41 AM
These are adorable.  Careful, though - the angry one looks like he's plotting something devious!  (He's my favorite)
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Waterfall card on: December 29, 2010 07:20:02 PM
Very cute!  I love the animal pictures you used - and I was able to see the lion with the 'ZZ', so no problem there!  Smiley
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: 'tis the season on: December 23, 2010 05:48:51 AM
I love that bauble wreath!  I wanted to make one this year, but I didn't have time so I'll have to make one next year.  I probably wouldn't hang it on a door, either.  It would make a lovely centerpiece with a white pillar candle in the center, too.  Great job!
7  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: First Time Etching: Deer Beer Mug on: December 19, 2010 10:07:43 AM
That came out awesome - and no practice runs?  Nice!
I bought the exact same etching tool, too - I'm glad yours worked well, I haven't tried mine yet.
8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Good/Bad Kitten and Argyle Sock Monkey on: December 17, 2010 11:37:51 AM
The kitten came out perfect!  And I love the sock monkey - you're right, though, he needs special eyes...and for some reason (maybe the argyle) I picture tiny wire-rimmed glasses (he's obviously a sophisticated professor sock monkey). Smiley
9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Monkey Boy on: December 17, 2010 08:26:11 AM
Very cute!  Just a concerned suggestion, though - the red beads on the tree could pose as a choking hazard - only mentioning it because you noted it was for your six-month old nephew.  He'll love it - it looks very cuddly
10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Anthropologie inspired giraffe on: December 10, 2010 02:57:25 PM
They are adorable!  I like them 100% more than the one in the link.
