22  Winter paintings in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by mandykaye on: February 13, 2013 12:48:27 AM
I had this painting I started last spring but had a hard time with the face...it was inspired by a picture i saw in a catalogue. Finally I decided to finish her once and for all! LOL! I ended up going with a model in a magazine ad for the face...

("Cold Moon" acrylic on 8"x10"canvas board)
I'm not totally happy with the hair but that is one area I still need to improve upon! Since, that was finished I was inspired to paint a couple more!
This one had a second round to it as well since i wasn't happy with the right side of the painting...I'm still not quite happy with it either lol!

("A Northern Night" acrylic on 8"x10" canvas board)

Next I tried for a little mix of paint and paper for this one!

("Hare Moon" acrylic and paper on 8"x10" canvas board)
I used some fun shimmery metallic paints for the background! I like how this turned out...different anyways!
Thanks for looking and any helpful hints would be great!

26  Fall/Autumn Projects! in Completed Projects by mandykaye on: October 25, 2012 10:39:42 PM
I was in a couple fall related swaps and wanted to share some of the things I made!

First up was this Pinterest inspired witchy sign! I just bought a wooden framed out blank sqaure at Walmart and went to town with the craft paint! I started with a black base then added two different orange colors using a foam brush. I free-handed the hat and letters. Then I just tied off some plaid ribbon and tacked it to the back!

Next is a spoon wand that I have been inspired to make since I received a gorgeous one from Knickertwist in a swap last year! I took a wooden spoon and woodburned the symbol for Hecate and Prosperity. I then used an orange paint wash over it. I wound some plaid ribbin around the handle with some eucalyptus and wire. I embelished with a pentagram charm and orange feather.

This next project, I just took a plain craft hand broom and embellished with some eucalyptus, ribbon, raffia, cinnamon sticks, pinecones and glass leaves.

Then I made a charm bracelet with all things fall! I mixed different metallic tones so my partner could wear it with almost anything Wink

Thanks for looking!!!

29  Re: Falling for Autumn Rd 2 GALLERY!! in The Swap Gallery by mandykaye on: October 06, 2012 09:35:34 PM
I received! Pics to come soon! Grin

OK!! Here is the awesomeness!!! I totally needed the motivation to finish up Monnie's stuff lol! I just need to box up and ship out to her tomorrow or tuesday!

This is the whole shebang!!

She sent an emormous package  Shocked

These are the extras!! Some costume jewelry, glow in the dark nails, nail art, pencils, stickers, erasers, and socks!!

She made me some heat packs for my sore muscles lol (the orange material on the right)! She didn't fill with the rice to save on shipping which is totally understandable! She sent money for the rice but I can get that super cheap so she is getting that back Wink She also sent a handmade shave soap bar and some lovely herbs (lavender, spearmint, peppermint, comfrey, and elecampane root) and a spray for the heat packs! A beautiful reversable altar cloth with ribbon accents! A couple stones, jasper I think?? Some lovely boxes (a coffin, a handpainted one, and a woodburned one). A woodburned spoon wand, and a gorgeous woodburned sign that says "There are more of us than you think." on a wonderful slab of wood!!!

Its funny because there are a couple items that are eerily simliar to the ones I am sending her lol! It was a great package as always Monnie! Thanks so much!

My pictures didn't capture the beauty of the wood nor the fabric on that altar cloth which has a metallic sheen on the pumpkin side!
