1  Re: Unicorn Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by franknhurter on: April 22, 2012 04:26:25 PM
Here is the wonderful package I received from my swap partner KodaNRoxyDogs.
First out a tote with a Unicorn battling the dark side which I immediately took out with me and am still using.

Next a small painting of a double cone one side Unicorn one side Narwhal. It will reside in my Unicorn room ie my mystical bathroom. If I could have one room to make me smile while soaking in the tub that would be it.

Lastly a detailed t-shirt perfect purple for my roller derby outings. Perfect fit!

Everything was wonderful playful and with a perfect sense of humor. Thank you it's all perfect!!

Here is the package I received from klg_jlg.
A wonderful set of pot holders

A pair of fingerless mitts (her first attempt ever to crochet, good job don't ya'll think)

And a pocket belt from a pair of her favorite jeans. I can see why they were your favorites, the fabric is so soft.

Thank you so much. They will be used.

6  Re: Craft This Tote Round 2! - Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by franknhurter on: March 13, 2012 04:06:14 PM
I got my tote today!!! Thank you Waterbaby for a spectacular angel package.
Here is a shot of the entire kit-and-caboodle

First Vintage skating magnets. I love them. They went right on the fridge. I love vintage and love skating so combining the two made me smile.

A pen and ink derby inspired shirt and derby stickers. The shirt does look like my home team logo. The stickers say "Derby Girls can score in under 2 minutes.." for all those who would like the background. I play roller derby and a length of each Jam in which to score is 2 minutes or less. There can be around 35 Jams in each game. I already have devious ideas for these stickers. I know lots of girls who will want to take them from me. LOL

Lovely crochet owl fingerless gloves. Beautifully done and an amazing color. The eyes are in the little baggie for the option of eyes or no eyes cables.

Lastly the amazing tote in all it's owl glory. The wings are pockets which is the cherry on top.
Just so you get the picture, the pocket held the best chocolate bar in the world....Dark Chocolate. Whhhoohoooo!
All of the colors are wonderfully complementary.

Thank you Waterbaby for being my craft Angel. It made my crafting day.

7  Re: Yarnies Scavenger Hunt R6 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by franknhurter on: March 02, 2012 07:07:07 PM
I just received my box from jasminewolverine and she did such a great job.
Here is the goodies all wrapped and numbered

Something Local: Alpaca with bamboo yarn in fingering weight. It is so yummy soft! And the natural white color is beautiful!

Something Round: A flowerpot filled with Spring Green Noro yarn. Yes if I could just grow more Noro out of this pot, I would be the happiest of girls.

Something Green: A beautiful hook roll. Perfect! And now can carry my hoops and not put them in that ugly plastic they came in. And even better it is pink and green sparkley...ahhhh sparkley!!!!
Something Hard: Cable stitch needles (Since I would like to learn, but I just learned to read knitting patterns, this would be a hard for me) And a pattern to go with the cable needles from tiny owl knits
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/forest--frill

Something "T"ote bag: Not only a tote bag but a ROLLER DERBY YETI BUMMBLE WITH MY # BAG!!!! the hyperventilating laughter started about now. She is perfect!!! You have some painting talent lady!
Something Funny: A sock key chain, where the sock has the meat diagram of where all the tastiest portions of the sock are. Ya wouldn't want to get the dry chewy cuff, with you wanted to soft juicy instep. The Kitchener stitch is written on the back and there is a darning needle in the toe.

upclose

Sender's Choice: Ginger Chews. YES! And I am eating one right now. Oh and one more...before dinner. I'm living dangerously.

jasminewolverine, you are a master of the swap.  Thank you so much!

8  Camp out Fingerless Mitts easy and good for new pattern readers in Knitting: Completed Projects by franknhurter on: February 26, 2012 05:42:24 PM
I found this pattern on ravelry for Camp out Fingerless mitts. It was a good pattern for beginners, although I do feel that using double pointed needles were beneficial to the ease of this.

The abbreviations I didn't know I looked up on you tube.

The color variation is from Norro silk garden yarns.

9  Re: Fabric Basket Swap GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by franknhurter on: February 24, 2012 03:12:39 PM
I received my basket today in the mail from littlehajerika.
I put on my questionnaire that I would like a basket to hold all my running gear and here it is! With all the running gear in it. She applique "RUN" on the side. Now I am ready to RUN!

I also requested a running headband and Erika came through like she read my mind.

It is just perfect and exactly what I needed & wanted. Way to run away with it Erika!
Thank you so much for this excellent swap.
