1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Wavy Stitch Afghans on: August 27, 2014 07:41:38 AM
My granddaughter requested that I make her an afghan in her ASU school colors. After finishing it, I was inspired to go on and make two more for the other 'girls' in my life...my granddaughter and daughter-in-law. I found the easy peasy pattern in the Boye I TAUGHT MYSELF CROCHET book.

2  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 82 ENTRIES / Empty Dog House In The Snow on: January 07, 2013 10:50:59 AM
For our first ever gingerbread house , we chose to to make an empty dog house sitting in the snow. Someone has built a snowman outside the front door, but no dog lives there during the harsh winter months. All dogs belong in the house or in a sheltered and windproofed area for protection while they, along with us, wait for the sunny days of Spring to return.

Side view:

The roof of the dog house was tiled with frosted shredded wheat.

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Astrid The M&M on: November 02, 2012 07:09:30 PM
This year Astrid's vet had a fun Halloween party for all of his patients and patients parents. She's a pretty big girl and I didn't want her getting too warm at the party, so I came up with this M&M idea. I made an extra wide collar using Pellon fusible stabilizer to stiffen it up. The pillow was two circles with lace edging, stuffed with poly fill. The M was cut from felt and machine stitched on following the outline of the letter. The collar was secured with velcro and the m&m was secured to the band with velcro also.

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Sundaes Table Setting on: October 31, 2012 07:12:37 PM
I love the looks of my table set with crochet sundaes and fresh dahlias. I used the patterns I found on this site: http://www.normalynn.info/freepatterns.html

5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Little Girls on: August 25, 2012 07:24:00 PM
These little girls were fun to make and were all one piece, except for the hat and underpants. I posted them on Facebook for 'Friendship Day'.

The pattern is offered on this website: http://kandjdolls.blogspot.com

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Deux Cloches on: August 26, 2011 11:46:16 AM
I love the 1920s style of these hats. The pattern was easy and best of all, free, from Lion Brand.  http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/chs-cloche.html?noImages=

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Blanket on: March 28, 2011 11:29:38 AM
I had several skeins of this chunky purple yarn left...Lion Brand Super Bulky 'Portland Wine'. I decided to just see how far it would take me. I started doing a granny square and just kept going until I ran out. It measures 30"x30", isn't big enough for much except to display as a piece of yarn art on the sofa.
8  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Mouse Invasion! on: March 27, 2011 08:54:38 AM
My first amigurumi project is this band of little mice. I used scrap yarn, plastic eyes and nose. I followed the pattern found here http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/2009/03/amigurumi-crochet-mouse.html.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Loom Knit Hats on: February 17, 2011 07:56:56 AM
I've made several 'traditional' hats on my circle knitting loom, now I want something a little different, so book in hand I'm trying new stitches. The first hat pictured, the white popcorn stitch, was surprisingly easy. The woven top hat was a little more difficult and was a real lesson in patience for me. I found both patterns and instructions in the Learn New Stitches On Circle Looms book.

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knit Spring Hat on: February 10, 2011 05:12:37 AM
This hat was knit on a round loom with 100% cotton yarn. I didn't want a wide brim and was going more for more of a flapper style, so I just did a very narrow brim, achieving the edging I was after. The flower is crochet (by me) with a pearl inserted in the center.
