1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: The Stereotypical Knitter on: February 20, 2005 05:50:21 PM
Thank you!  After reading that I can 'cut loose'! I went and tried it.  Wow, now I know why people call it relaxing, because at first I was like - relaxing my axx!  You can see in my swatch where I loosened up.  Today has been wonderful knit wise because I went and purchased supplies for my first project!  I'm doing the go go scarf in the SnB book.  The first beginner project.  It calls for a size 17 needle and extra heavy yarn.  So I am loose loose loose today!  I think I'm addicted!

Wow! thank you soooo much!  Your life is definately worth while because I thought that was the 'norm' to push your stitches off!  Mine are so tight that I can barely get the needle through the hole and then back out let alone slide it off!  off to go find the thread you are talking about........which one is it?

hehe! well, yesterday I kind of got the idea of the knit stitch.  Haven't attempted purl yet.  But as I made row after row, they started getting wider, almost started looking triangleish?  maybe my bottom rows were tighter?  anyone have an idea? is this a common newbie problem.  guess I should go look for the answer in my dummies book.  I still really really want the snb book.

This is my first post here.  I'm on day two of teaching myself to knit.  Yesterday I couldn't get past casting on.  Today I've made about 10 rows!  I'm very excited!  I went to borders and really wanted to get the SNB book, but they were sold out.  I got Knitting for Dummies.  I think I'll be hanging around here a lot!
