1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Completed Projects / Louise Brooks Pillow on: January 22, 2011 08:04:08 PM
I got a YUDU for Christmas but still hadn't taken it out of the box after reading all the bad reviews online. I'm so glad I finally did; that thing is FUN.

I took a piece of  my very talented boyfriends artwork, featuring silver screen  goddess Louise Brooks, turned it into a simple black and white one, and screened it onto, well, too many things... But my favorite of those things is this flannel pillow I sewed this morning.

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Black Swan Bunny on: January 17, 2011 08:23:36 PM
I've been making a ton of bunnies lately, so after seeing The Black Swan of course I had to have a Black swan bunny. She's made of upcycled cashmere, tulle, and a whole lot of glitter...

3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / My First Baby Dress on: January 17, 2011 08:01:08 PM
so I had a go at making a baby dress for an upcoming shower. I'm nowhere near the point of making my own clothing patterns yet, so I took a seam ripper to a stained old Gymboree dress and stole the pattern. Advice is welcome.

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / HIPSTAMATIC CANVAS FRAME (5 Min Project) on: January 17, 2011 07:46:38 PM
I'm almost embarrassed to post this here simply because it was such a ridiculously easy project. I have become somewhat obsessed with the Hipstamatic app on my iphone, and recently ordered a ton of prints as an in app purchase. They arrived like 2 days later and I was SO EXCITED, but being 4x4 inches my framing options were limited.

So, I took a 16" by 20" canvas (Michaels had them for like $4), and covered it in evenly spaced Velcro mini adhesive strips (itchy side on canvas, this is important) and put the soft side of the velcro on the back of my pictures.

Now I have a constantly adjustable frame that I can change up the pictures on whenever the mood strikes or new prints arrive, no cutting required as it was perfectly sized already.

Just be sure to put the soft side of the velcro on your pictures to avoid damage when stored.

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Craft Room Redo on: January 17, 2011 07:15:24 PM
I have had what you might call a love hate relationship with my craft room. I love that I have one, but it was SOOO ugly.  ;  I am a renter, and the room has a large very functional built in wood desk type thing. The wood is about the ugliest shade of yellowed brown I've ever seen, splintery too, with a counter top of what I believe is dark gray linoleum.  I finally had enough and one roll of white vinyl adhesive, one roll of paintable wallpaper and an old shower curtain later I have something I can work with. (for now)  Due to the rental situation I didn't actually adhere the wallpaper to the wood, but used double sided tape pulled tight at the edges and it worked fine. one less thing to worry about when we move.
