11  Glitter Rainbow Headband in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by glitter_is_good on: December 27, 2010 10:27:02 PM
I love wearing headbands, and drawing things with glitter is a specialty of mine, so I decided to make a glittery rainbow for a headband.

There is a little slot of felt on the back of the rainbow so that the headband can slide right through.  I have several little headband brooches which are interchangeable(depending on what I want to wear that day.)

I really enjoy it and it sparkles sooo much in the sunshine!

I might make a tute if there is any interest.

Thanks!

12  Family Portrait Nesting Dolls in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by glitter_is_good on: December 27, 2010 10:20:52 PM
This is my first project post so I apologize if I ramble!

Sooo.. My boyfriend's mom collects Russian nesting dolls.  And after a lot of pondering, I decided that I could make her a personalized set of dolls with her whole family as the doll characters.

I ordered blank nesting dolls from a seller on Amazon, and then I painted the whole family (Dad, Mom, Oldest Son[my boyfriend,] Youngest Son, and Petey the Pug) with acrylic paint.  I also included a little bird in his mom's hand(she has a pet parrot that she carries around all over the house.)

I'm really happy with how they turned out and I hope that she likes them!

Now I'm thinking of making my mom and grandma a set as well for their birthdays  Grin

Questions and Comments are welcome!

UPDATE: Well, I gave her the nesting dolls tonight and she really loved them.  Looked like she was on the verge of tears actually.  I think it was a success!
