1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Unisex Jacket Pattern? on: March 18, 2012 07:08:06 PM
My search for an adult sized unisex jacket is not going very well. It's absolutely FRUSTRATING.

It's either vintage, womens, or some pattern that has insane amounts of details and such..

I just want a simple jacket that you can modify yourself to make it look how you want. Single color, one stitch. Not complicated. Pattern not hard to follow at all.

All the patterns I've found were for women and babies. Most of which wouldn't look well on men. And I've tried adjusting the patterns, but no dice.

So, craftser .. Help me out here. What is the simplest jacket pattern out there? And one that's easy to follow. This is just ridiculous. =\

All the patterns that I've found so far have bizarre patterns on the finished product.

I just want a pattern with one stitch. No fancy linings or anything. Just one stitch. Preferably just a single crochet throughout the entire thing.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / I need your help, crafsters! Pattern conversion. on: October 11, 2011 09:32:50 PM
So! I've come across a bit of a speed bump in my adventures.

Right now, for all the fitted beanies with designs on them, I use a H sized hook, which s 5.00 mm.

THEORETICALLY, I can make even bigger designs by doubling the size of the pattern and using a hook that's half the size of the one that I'm using now.

Is there any truth to my theory?

I'm currently looking for a hook that's 2.50 mm in size. The smallest one that I currently have is an E hook, which i don't not the size in mm.

Thanks for your help, craftsters!

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Street Fighter 4 Beanie on: October 11, 2011 02:56:35 AM
So, I have returned after not posting for the longest time.

I've ventured into the world o video game art and crafting. I stumbled upon the site called "Sprite Stitch," and realized I haven't done anything geek/video game related in a really long time. So, lately I've been using the time to make some video game inspired hats.

I really love video games, and know there are millions of people who love the culture and the whole community associated with them. So, if you're a gamer, you'll definitely appreciate the things I've been working on in the last week or so.

First on the list is Ken, from Street fighter 4. The sprite that I used is not mine; I just decided to put it on a beanie to see if it would fit:

The beanie is gigantic, unfortunately. I started the actual sprite on the row after I finished increasing to fit the beanie over my head. The back extends all the way to the back of my neck .. Ahah .. But it's still comfy and keeps my ears warm!

Let me know what you think!

I've been searching Google, here, and everywhere that I could find that has a base pattern for a simple jacket, or even a coat.

However, all the patterns that I have found are not straightforward single crochet/double crochet stitches. The jackets have intricate patterns along then in the finished product .. However, I want my finish project to be ALL one stitch so I can ebroider my own logos and such onto the jacket when it's finished.

Thanks for the help!

That's AMAZING!

How did you make the design on the hats? Did you single crochet them, or make chains and sew them on? Lemme know, because I'm interested in doing something similar. Smiley Thanks!
