1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Pretty shoulder bags - stripes and floral (lots of pics) on: March 04, 2008 09:40:30 AM
I made this bag as a practice run, but love it so much I've been using it every day! You can't see as I only have bad photos, but I lined it with gorgeous William Morris fabric.

I then used the same idea, but changed lots of elements for this bag, which was a Mother's Day gift for my mum.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: new dress! (after 2yrs of putting it off) on: February 15, 2008 04:48:52 AM
That's so beautiful, and I love the way you've accessorised it  Grin
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Black Blue and Houndstooth too! on: January 22, 2008 07:45:36 AM
That is just fab, I love it.
You're so pretty too  Grin

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Two vintage-style evening bags (pic heavy) on: January 20, 2008 08:06:41 AM
Thank you!
I'm still very new to this - they're the first proper bags I've made but they're quite simple and very handy (excuse the pun  Wink).

Neither is quite finished - they're both unpressed, the green one is missing a button, and the bow on the black one needs finishing off. They're dinky little things, but so sweet.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Whirlaway dress made from curtains (or, My First Dress) ;) on: December 11, 2007 09:50:55 AM
I used the Simplicity pattern for the retro whirlaway dress that lots of people here have used, but didn't put the bias tape on as I thought there was enough colour in the dress already. It's a little big, but I do love it. It's also made from curtains, so my husband doesn't like it  Grin
I'm pretty proud of my first ever dress.

Oh, and here are the curtains in all their glory  Grin
8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: The urge to sew at the most hectic times of our lives? on: November 30, 2007 06:30:19 AM
I'm in the final, most depressing stage of my PhD thesis and despite having a horrible chapter deadline for next Tuesday I have still made an entire dress in the past two days  Cheesy
9  U.K. AND IRELAND / IRELAND / Re: Anyone from ireland? on: November 30, 2007 06:27:39 AM
I'm from Cork city, and am a sewer (only a beginner at the moment though). I find it really hard to find nice fabrics and notions here - we now only have Hickey's and a few furnishings fabric shops, so I tend to buy online or use old curtains from around our house  Wink
