1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Nautical Bed Frame (Pic Heavy) on: June 29, 2011 11:32:25 AM
So I'm currently in limbo of moving. I'm waiting to hear on some visa's to move internationally so in the meantime I moved back in with my mom. We did a whole clear out house, and she had offered to buy me a new bed set. Granted, new is nice, seeing as how I wont be living with her for more than a few months it seemed unnecessary. She had this very old battered bed-frame (purchased in the 40's) from my Great-Grandmother. This thing has been a hand me down for so many years, and she had contemplated trashing it. Instead of the trash, to my bedroom it went! It still works just fine, and given it's sentimental value, I figure we could spruce it up and save some cash while we're at it. Hope you all enjoy!

Tools: Paint brush, tarp, black and white Olympic Latex semigloss paint (although I wouldn't recommend it really as far as lasting durability)

Before (I forgot to take a picture of the top bit of the frame, but it looked exactly the same as the bottom frame):

I'm a huge fan of the Kraken/Octopus and I love compasses so I took the idea from a tattoo I had designed/done for me last year (artwork by Steve Lowery at http://transcendingflesh.com/).

Anyway, here's the final result of the frame!

(That's Cloud Strife on the bed enjoying it!)

2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Cabaret-Mild Nudity be warned! on: June 24, 2011 02:25:35 PM

This is actually my first post, so I'm not sure the stipulations are for posting semi-nude art pieces. I do apologize if it offends anyone or breaks the rules. Just let me know and I can remove or alter it! Thanks!

So I went on a kick of doing some cabaret nude series paintings. This one is probably the one that makes me the happiest so I thought I would post it here. I hope you guys can enjoy! (My brother seems too, he commandeered it to hang in his room lol)

It's Oil done on a 3'x2' stretched canvas frame.
