Sometimes the simplest bags are the prettiest. (This would be one of those times.) (:
I really like that pink (and I do not like pink at all) with that gorgeous blue. Too bad the straps are too short--I'd definitely make another if I were you. (;

This bag here was created on a whim, from what was originally going to be a flat and boring tote. As I have never made such a bag before, I pretty much made it up as I went along, with the help and suggestions of a dear friend. Sadly, I parted with it for a swap, but I am glad the owner likes it as much as I did. (:

Oh yeah, it's super sturdy--two layers of fusible interfacing on each fabric for a total of four layers of interfacing in there! Yeesh! The sides are floppy so they can be folded in, and there are pockets on each side.

Tabatha--I'm super glad you liked all your stuff. I thought that a story letter was definitely fitting for all the craziness/funness that went on crafting everything. (:

And I absolutely LOVE seeing everyone's stuff. It makes me so happy to see people make/get awesome crafted goods. (: More pictures!

I got my buttons from RachoftheJungle a few days ago. They are so pretty. And look! I can add fabric to make my own buttons! How awesome is that. (: Thanks again!

Goodness, what an assortment! I thought we were supposed to send 20? I hope my partner does not feel cheaped out. :/

Here are the wonderful things I got from BeccaJane22 last week. The wallet is crocheted and the perfect size for carrying around in my back pocket. (: She also added a cute kittie necklace and adorable bee journal. I feel spoiled. Cheesy Thanks again!

Thanks, that helps a bit--I feel kinda dumb for not thinking of it on my own, hah.
369  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Peyote rings/bracelets on: May 03, 2005 04:53:53 PM
I just learned some sort of Peyote stitch (even count maybe?) and successfully made myself a ring with barely enough string left to finish it off.

My question: How do I measure how much string I will need to complete a project? I want to make a bracelet out of this pattern (http://www.beadiefriends.com/RosebudBorderPeyoteTN.htm), but I don't know how much string to use! I'll also be working on a much larger project this weekend, and I'm afraid I won't have enough string if I just try to guess. Is there a way to measure according to the dimensions of the project?

Any help would be appreciated. Oh, and I've skimmed through some About.com articles, but they don't say anything about the amount of string to use. :/

370  Illinois / Illinois: North / Bead stores in Chicago and suburbs... on: May 02, 2005 11:38:38 PM
I'm currently on a beading kick, but I don't know of any bead stores in the area. :/ In the area would be anywhere in Chicago and north suburbs. I know of that one bead store on Lincoln and Paulina, I think it is, though I have not been there before. Perhaps I shall venture over there tomorrow. I also know that there does exist another bead store possibly in the Palatine area because my friend took me there a few years ago; I just have no idea where it is or what it's called. Help, please!
