haha! i love the elephant butts!! great stuff! where did you get that stencil anna?

the stencil i made by tracing a picture of an elephant i got off the internet and then adding roller skates to the bottom.  that was the easy part!  hehe.

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: (now with tutorial) robot bug ipod cozy - sewn - with windows on: June 02, 2005 07:35:22 PM
Hello,
Evidently I have reserved my first post for a potentially stupid sewing question.
I just made a small, lined bag that I intended for my ipod (but it ended up being too big so now it's a handy dandy wristlet-type thing).  Anyway, after I flipped it right-side-out, I wanted to sew around the top kind of like around the top of your robot ipod cozy.  It was challenging because the opening of the bag was not big enough to fit around my sewing machine.

Does that make sense?  Does anyone have any tips?  I'm likely missing something obvious!

yeah i think to do that you need a removable piece on your sewing machine to make the foot much smaller.  I sewed the top and bottom of my ipod cozy before i made it into a circle...so I guess I don't really have any tips.  working with really small things is hard.

I just have to say that tha alligator is one of the best things I've seen on Craftster! Smiley
It reminds me of the wondeful striped sandworm from Beetlejuice.
Hmmm. *ponders a Tim Burton swap*..

haha totally a beret.  ha!

he hates the shirt i put on him; totally flips out and spazzes all over the house.  but he does not seem to mind the scarf i guess because it is kind of like a collar.

ultimately i think i need a dog for to satisfy my animal-dressing fantasies.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Baby Blanket patterns on: May 26, 2005 10:03:31 AM
i know you are a knitter but i couldn't help sharing this crochet pattern i have been wanting to make (i just love the shape:

...okay the site i found this pattern on originally has become a registration required site because apparently someone used her free patterns to make money on ebay.  The site is www.angelcrafts.net if you are interested in checking it out and the blanket i am talking about is called "round ripple baby afghan."  if you do crochet, this blanket is a round design that comes out like a many-pointed star and has bands of color.  it is so pretty.  oh!  it looks a lot like the one the person before me just posted, but it has 12 points instead of 5, so it is rounder.

i have made this one (also crochet):
http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/cpl-bafg.html
which is cute b/c it has a hood.  also, fun and easy.
oh here is the knitted version:  http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/kpl-bafg.html

and omg i just found this one (also crochet):
http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/ckc-lionWrap.html
with a hood that looks like a lion head.  cute!!  it doesn't appear to have a knitted version but maybe you could use the one above and modify it if you like it.

okay end of crocheter trying to convert knitters.  <3

Gah!  I love that birds on the wire shirt.

here are my pictures of stuff from call_me_bambi.  I chose goat and octopus.

A long pillow of fish and octopi fabric (the octopi have really skinny necks and different sized eyes!) with beaded edges, an amazing purse with a girl hugging her goat, and a cigar box with cute goats all over it.

The inside of the box has a goat image, too, and it also has octopus, etc magnets!

thank you call_me_bambi!  this stuff is quality and adoreable.  <3 <3 <3
