I'm so glad you received everything and that you like it all. Have you listened to the cd's? It took me so long to send it all out because i wanted to make sure you got enough since you waited for so long and were flaked on TWICE. Also because the kitty was so perfect and you went out of your way to get her to me in time for Halloween. I could take a picture of her with my camera phone, but it won't do her justice. i'll try to do that soon. -yarnwench
If you have one next fall i will have to jump over there. My boy is of scottish descent, and we're thinking about planning a trip there. He's very crafty, too, so he'd be excited about some alternative crafts.
thanks to yarnwench for being a great swap partner! [/quote] Yay! I'm glad you finally got it and that you like it. That was only my second batik (the owl) and i was a bit nervous. I didn't think the marshmallows would survive the florida heat, but i figured that if they melted, you'd be halfway to rice krispies treats. And thank YOU for being a great swap partner! I get so many nice compliments on your crafts, but then i have to tell people i didn't make them. The floss is for sewing the ahimsa patch on (it matches the brown flower.) I guess it seems kind of random out of context. Oh well.
Here's my thing: My amazingly wonderful friend Robin wants to do this swap, because she adores squid (I love them too, but she devoted 5 pages in her zine to them) but she is merely a craftster lurker. Would it be against the rules if she swaps under my name? I'll assume responsability if she flakes, which i know she won't, and i'll even make a few things myself. She makes this one gorgeous thing that i just really want a craftster to have. And the person with whom i swap will just be making things for her and not me. To sweeten the deal, i'll tell you a joke: A guy walks into a bar holding an octopus. The bartender says, "Hey buddy, that's not a good idea, bringing that octopus in here." The guy replies, "Oh, this is no ordinary octopus. He can talk, and he can play any instrument you put in front of him." The bartender, intrigued, pulls a harmonica out of his shirt pocket and hands it to the octopus. The octopus, to the surprise and awe of the bar patrons, puts it to his lips and WAILS on that harmonica. The guitarist of the hired band says, "That was pretty good, but let's see you play this guitar." The octopus takes the guitar, and with a storm of tentacles, plays the sweetest song you've ever heard. One of the bar patrons gets off his stool and says, "Wait right here, i've got something in my car." He returns with a bagpipe and says, "Let's see what you can do with this." The octopus stares at the bagpipe, inspecting it from every angle. After 5 minutes, there is still no music. The guy says, "Ha! I knew you couldn't play that!" And the octopus says, "Play it? I was gonna screw it but i couldn't get these pajamas off!"

lizbot, that stuff is so cute! my goodies from VK appear to be lost in transit, we are on the case though!
Yeah, i was so excited to get them all in the mail, and i've already received lots of compliments. I'm going to use the pouch to hold all the patches i swap with travelling kids and friends. Lizbot, did you actually make the buttons? That's really cool. I can't believe you haven't gotten your package yet. Now i'm concerned. I don't know if part of it is going to survive the journey (Take a wild guess what that might be.) But i live pretty close to Louisiana so that may affect the postal system. I don't know.
I don't know if you got my pm, but i'd be happy to send you something, too. I'd actually be pretty excited about it, since you like pink and you live close enough that shipping wouldn't be too expensive. Tinybits and i could only send eachother small things, but i just sent a much larger package to Canada for cheaper.
This round is looking awesome! I'm sorry i missed it, but i have no time lately. It's nice to see people with whom i've swapped in the past (teamwang and livineasy) keeping up the good work. Tight work all! (and this is also my shameless lurker post)
