1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Red Riding Hood and the wolf! on: November 04, 2015 04:01:46 PM
I had a friend of a friend approach me about making her Halloween Costume this year. She wanted to go as Red Riding Hood but also as the Wolf counter part. My lovely friend Amanda made her a very feminine looking wolf mask while I worked on the hood/bodice/ tails combo and dress. I think they came out amazing considering we were only able to meet twice to get everything to fit right. She is a blogger so she took some pretty awesome photos of her in this outfit!

2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Renaissance and Fantasy faire Swap? on: March 29, 2015 09:46:10 AM
Its getting to be the season for the Renaissance fairs! I dont know about everyone else but I am completely stoked about it and thought it would be a neat idea if we had a swap that would express that. I have included the fantasy part of the fair because who doesnt want to be some mythical creature for fun right?
3  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Renaissance Dress for 6 bucks, Say What!? on: June 01, 2013 08:21:48 PM
About a month ago I found out that my local Renaissance Fair would be coming in May (yup a little late in posting this!) and of course you cant go to a Ren fair in every day clothes of this era, it would take away from all the fun that is a Ren fest, plus this WAS my first time ever going to one and I wanted it to be special but seeing as how I was broke I needed to make a dress that was fairly inexpensive. Low and behold my prays were answered when I found 1 dollar fabric! And on top of that my boyfriends costume I had the material for the pants already, his tunic I made out of an old curtain and his vest the material was only a buck as well!!

here I am with the home made root beer that I dream about every year! This was towards the end of the festival (which had gotten rained out the day before we came so it was mud everywhere!) I have acquired a few skins and a mug that has the Ren fair seal on it! You cant see it but I also have an under skirt that I made on as well and the dress is historically made, thats right I had to get sinched into it and needed help getting out of it as well!

Here is my handsome boyfriend who is awesome enough to allow me to dress him up (I am so lucky!) He kinda looks like a tailor apprentice or a toy maker to me Tongue
Like I said with my dress, everything is historically accurate. I hand sewed all the button holes (NEVER AGAIN!) his tunic has a tie and his breeches lace up in the back with buttons in the front. All in all I am really proud of my work since I didnt really have much time to make these and no money at that!

I cant wait for the next Ren fair to come to town! I think our outfits will get better and better the more time (and money) I have!!

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / This is Scrump! on: July 12, 2012 04:24:27 PM
This is Scrump... I made her Grin but her heads to big  Cry so I pretend that a bug laid eggs in her ear and shes upset cuz she only has a few more days too.....

Im pretty proud on how well she came out considering that it took me five different drafting patterns to even get this close to her. She still has too square of a head but I am very happy with her at the moment until I want to come back to her pattern and alter it til I can make her into perfection. But this pattern was all I could handle, I had almost given up on her. I'm glad I didnt. I hope you enjoy!

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Dancing Yeti on: June 14, 2012 08:46:59 AM
Down by my work there is this awesome little locally owned coffee house that has some of the best coffee I have ever had. The shop name is The Dancing Yeti, but when you walk in there is not a yeti in sight! Well I thought this simply wont do and got to work on a plush yeti that I crafted after the yeti they use on their punch cards

This is what I came up with

The shop owners loved him! And although I havent seen him in the shop yet I'm not letting it get to me. They WILL have yetis in their shop even if I have to place them there myself!!
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / I'm the shadow on the moon at night.... on: June 14, 2012 08:41:33 AM
I seem to be going on a Nightmare Before Christmas spree at the moment and couldnt resist making my own little Oogie to keep Jack company.

He is about 7 inches tall and mostly made of felt.

Hope you enjoy Smiley
