1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Anthropologie-inspired capelet + Tutorial! on: April 01, 2008 07:25:04 AM
Thanks Betty Bat! It's good to be back...

I haven't done any design (or imposter) work in a long time...I've spent the past few years knitting other people's patterns...and dyeing yarn sporadically...

I'm still completely amazed about this pattern's success...Craftsters RAWK!

nice work fenifer! I really like your yarn choice!

Ok, so I joined the bandwagon, and hijacked my old thread back to post an FO (how strange is that?) I decided that the original capelet needed a makeover. In fact, it wasn't really a capelet anyway (by design a capelet is a short cape...since it has sleeves, it is a SHRUG or a BOLERO!)...

Anyhoo,  I gained a few pounds since 2005 (shame on me!), and realized I wasn't going to wear a sweater that showed off my least fave asset (tummy), so I added a LOT of length, and some button bands with the rest of the yarn I bought (in 2005) for this project...

Keep on knitting capelet-sters! FYI, this is the most viewed thread in the craftster completed projects forum (aside from sticky posts)!!!

Yes, that could work! Just bind off all of one color, then all of the other, and you have an oven mitt!

I tried my hand at the pattern offered free on knittinghelp.com to learn DK. I used some kind of Moda Dea yarn I picked up at AC Moore for about $2-3/skein. My next DK project will be a scarf for a friend (who loves hearts).

wow, absolutely EVERYONE is knocking this off...even Daisy Fuentes for Kohl's !!!  (who knew she had a clothing line? I sure didn't!) It was on sale for $25 in the store, but 100% scratchy acrylic.

Wow, Landry! That looks AWESOME!

The dark color really does show off the cable pattern nicely.

Good work!!!
8  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Wicked from Zephyr Style on: October 19, 2007 12:07:41 PM
Hi guys. Here's my finished Wicked. Don't mind the random unwoven end hanging from my arm....I used 3 skeins of Brooks Farm Solana purchased at Maryland Sheep & Wool earlier this year. This yarn was lovely, except where I attached a new ball to the left sleeve - the color difference was noticeable. If it's not too warm out, I'll wear it to Rheinbeck tomorrow!

That is weird! My chart A is labeled in increments of 10 rows labeled 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50. It's on page 10 of my pattern.

I'm in, I'm in, I'm in!!!

I need a few days to finish Wicked (started way late and i'm doing it w/long sleeves), but I got my yarn for the TYC...recommended yarn and color (how completely uncreative)

Can't wait...

So far all your WIPs are gorgeous Smiley
