1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / "Pretty in Pink Genie Costume" on: November 08, 2012 09:45:08 PM

We had a hot pink dance costume that looked so much like a genie outfit to me, so when I showed my daughter a picture of the original Jeannie online--she loved the idea.  We already had the pink leotard, the beaded shoes, and I had a rhinetone chain belt.  I made the hat out of cardboard, wrapped the pink fabric around it and taped some of my vintage rhinestone necklaces inside to the cardboar. I just stapled the sash that hangs below her chin to the inside as well.  I also had silver ric-rac trim that I added.  I remembered that I had a great rhinestone applique from a t-shirt that I had been saving for something special for about 5 years, and it was a perfect thing to sew to the top!  We added a pink sash and she was ready to go!
