1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Rabbity Oddfellow and Sleepy Sarah (pattern links) on: December 29, 2008 09:58:40 AM
Over this past long weekend, I made two toys (plus I worked on an afghan)!

Here's Rabbity Oddfellow:

Free pattern here: http://chris10000.canalblog.com/archives/2008/05/02/9035603.html
Ravel'd here: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/KimberlyPye/rabbit-

And here's Sleepy Sarah:

Free pattern here: http://owlishly.typepad.com/owlishly/sleepy-sarah-amigurumi-pa.html
Ravel'd here: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/KimberlyPye/sleepy-sarah-amigurumi-pattern

These were both pretty quick and easy to make. I'm excited about another long weekend this week. I wonder what will come off the hooks and needles this time...  Wink
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Owl Fridgies (link to pattern!) on: August 28, 2008 12:58:50 PM
I've been going a bit nuts making fridgies in general, but I've made three of this one! I kept the first one, the second one's for an elderly lady I know, and I'm giving the third one away to someone (don't know to whom yet!).

The pattern is super fun and easy! You can find it here: http://www.geocities.com/crochetrat/owlfridgie.html

Or Ravel it here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/owl-fridgie
3  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Vegetarian/Vegan Sandwich List on: August 20, 2008 09:05:55 AM
I decided to start this thread where we can all post tasty sandwich combos. All because of this fabulous sandwich I made today:

Tofurkey (hickory smoked slices), avocado, and dijon mustard (on light wheat bread).

(I'm a vegetarian currently on a 30-day cheese fast, and avocado is like the cheese of the veggie kingdom!)

Post your tasty and creative combos here, and make them stand out so they can be seen easily.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My First Knitted Babe on: August 14, 2008 07:48:52 AM
I made this for a little girl I know. I had no idea how to do the hair, so I just winged it. I've since found a couple tutorials, so next time maybe I'll have better luck. As she is now, I think her hair is a little thin.  Anyone have a great hair-attaching method they want to share?

There are more pictures here: http://flickr.com/photos/thepyefamily/sets/72157606717105763/

She still needs shoes before I ship her off...
5  COOKING / Dessert / Exactly Four Chocolate Cupcakes (Link to recipe!) on: August 08, 2008 12:28:00 PM
Last night my husband and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary, and late in the evening I decided we needed cake. I didn't want to make a whole cake, so we developed this recipe for exactly four cupcakes.

The recipe can be found here: http://kimberlypye.blogspot.com/2008/08/fourth-anniversary-cupcakes.html

And here are our cupcakes as we decorated them (they were vegan until we added milk chocolate candies):
(Mine are on top; my husband decorated the bottom ones.)
6  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Raindrops -- Etched Water Glass on: August 05, 2008 06:11:57 AM
I received some etching cream from the OWS a while ago, and this is my first serious project I've completed with it.

I got the glass at the dollar store, and I stole the raindrop idea from a window pictured in the latest ReadyMade.

I'm drinking water from it at work right now. I lurve it.  Cheesy

9  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Pine Cone Hedgehogs on: June 04, 2008 12:49:14 PM
My mom and I made these last Thanksgiving.

I made the two on the right; my mom made the one on the left.

I used this tutorial: http://kiddley.com/2006/11/21/make-a-pinecone-hedgehog/
10  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Tiny Dr.'s Office Bead Maze on: June 04, 2008 12:40:29 PM
I made this for my brother for Christmas 2006.

We used to get a little rowdy when we played with the regular-sized one at the doctor's office when we were kids. He didn't want actual presents that year because he was in AmeriCorps, so I donated money to Big Brothers Big Sisters and made him this. All the bead colors are significant to him/me/us.

(The metal parts are paper clips.)
