21  Re: Little Odd-ball Yarn Swap - Round 2 - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by KimberlyPye on: July 15, 2008 06:40:55 AM
I got these yarn balls from tinkrbella2005 quite a while ago, but I left for a long weekend in L.A. Pictured are all the yarn balls, plus one yo-yo for each solid-color yarn:

Thanks, tinkrbella!

Eventually I'll add this section to my afghan and weave in the ends. (Usually I'm pretty good about weaving in and snipping off the ends as I go, but I didn't have my needle with me.)

I gave in. I couldn't wait till Wednesday afternoon to post pictures, so you'll have to excuse the cell phone camera!

Here's my package from Ma Rut (just like the ones posted on Page 1, but with poorer photography):

(Oh my goodness! It's even more horrendous than I thought! Oh, well! At least the yarn is great in real life! I'm using that fabulous variegated one for a korknisse!)

And here's my BOX of yarn (and 3-inch fabric squares!) from AbsurdAnnekuh:

Here it is all spilled out:

I still haven't had a chance to look at it all!

I'm waiting to get my camera back before I start adding all my new yarn to my yo-yo afghan.  I like to take a picture of the afghan before I add one person's yarn, and then another picture afterward so everyone can see which part of the afghan "belongs" (it's all mine! bwahahaha!) to him/her (all hers at this point).

I'm glad you like the piggy wallet. I feel bad, I didn't stalk and send you some extras, I sent before I read that everyone was doing that...

Don't even worry about it! I totally wasn't expecting my sender to stalk me! I just wanted what was offered in the first place!

Here's an action shot with my keys on the key ring:

I'm so wickedly happy I got the pig wallet!  Grin

24  Re: 2008 Color Craft-A-Long in Craftalongs by KimberlyPye on: June 24, 2008 06:14:48 AM
Oh, dear. I did it again. It's almost the end of June, and I forgot all about this thing!

Oh, wait! I just remembered that I finished these two pink things in June:

(A cabled owl dishcloth)

(A baby star afghan)

I'll make something else pink on purpose, though...

And here they are (finally)!

Baby Penguin and Her Mommy:

They're pretty big, as you can see by the comparison with the books, and they can stand up on their own! It will be sad to see them go, but hopefully they will end up in a happy house!

Mine is done! (Except for weaving in the ends on the other side, but that's done enough for me!)

I used Caron Simply Soft and a G hook. I finished it with one round of sc.

Right now, I'm saying I'll never make this again, but in reality I probably will. It's super fun at the beginning when it's growing so fast, but by the time I got to the fifth second section of green, I was getting a wee bit bored. But the results are too darn cute to shun forever!

I received my package from critterpants yesterday!

It was a long rectangular box packed full of wonderfulness!

Here's the group shot:

She sent two reusable sandwich wrappers, two hand-carved stamps, vegetarian recipes, one skein of green yarn and a little ball of pink yarn (for my yo-yo afghan), tea, reusable tea bags, 3-inch fabric squares, and two packs of safety eyes!

Here are the two carved stamps in action:

This was an unbelievably fabulous package! Thanks so much, critterpants!

It did! It did come today!

But I shouldn't even post it because Quail is going to be in so much trouble!

Here are the three packages, labeled "pink," "soft," and "star":

(Those are not extra goodies like 3-inch squares for my quilt and a "Knit Happens" pin; they're "packaging"  Wink )

And here are the opened items!

She sent a soft pouch (very cool design!), a pink necklace in a pink bag, and a star stuffie! I LOVE it all! Everything is so well made! (Maybe she also cheated and bought everything!) And she even stalked me enough to know that I always ask for neutral-colored things, too!

Thanks, Quail!

BEST SWAP EVER!!  Grin

Here's an updated gallery picture for you, as promised!

My afghan before adding the yarn Dulcinea sent me:

And after:

I used each color once. What remains got thrown into the scrap-stash and will get mixed into the rest of the afghan.

Thanks, Dulcinea, for helping my afghan grow!

Here are my yarn balls from Knichole!

I got them yesterday when I got home from hiking. I can't wait to add them to my afghan!

Thanks, Knichole!
