1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Adventure Time swap... anyone? on: February 12, 2014 01:47:08 PM
Hello!

I have recently fallen in love with this show and would totally love to do a swap based on it, anyone else interested? I have never organised a swap before so I may need some help (or even just some advice!) but I thought I check out if there was any interest first!
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / So many milk cartons, so little time... on: December 16, 2011 02:45:02 PM
Hello lovelies! I have been making these hair clips for a while now, they are butterflies made from plastic milk cartons, which are then attached to hair slides.

I cut the butterfly shapes out of the milk carton, which has a lovely soft edge, so no danger of cutting yourself! And then coloured them in with sharpies. I folded them in half to make them look more alive and then varnished them. When I do craft fairs they are the thing that sells most... if only they knew how easy they are to make!

3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / I NEED A NEW NAME! on: July 29, 2011 02:04:12 PM
"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet..."

I am organising a craft fair in October, but I want to give it a different name than 'craft fair'. Does anyone have any ideas? I am quite fond of "The Emporium of Wonder and Awe", but it isn't the catchiest...
4  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / I need some inspiration!! on: March 24, 2011 01:33:19 PM
Hey there! I volunteer at a day centre for people with MS, I come in and supervise craft groups but I am running out of ideas for things to do!!

The people I work with are in wheelchairs and have difficulties using their hands. They are 40+, and I don't want to patronise them, so the projects have to be adult-friendly.

Does anyone have any suggestions for things we could do? I'm especially interested in stuff with recycled materials, because our budget is teensy!

xx
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / "You sp.. sp.. sp" Broken Record Bag! on: February 15, 2011 11:19:26 AM
I was asked to make a birthday present for someone who goes to a lot of gigs and owns A LOT of music, so I thought "hmm, 7 inch singles getting dusty in the charity shop? MINE!"

And this is what I made from the sleeve and the vinyl itself. What do you think?

6  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 59 ENTRIES / "Dressed in my finest polyester..." on: February 08, 2011 02:34:16 PM
This is my first proper post, eeep!!! Please forgive me if the links don't work, I am happier with a needle and thread, not copy and paste!!

I found these UNFORGIVABLE polyester trousers for a tenner, and knew that God had not intended them for this world. I didn't model them like this for fear that I would somehow become infected with their hideousness.

A close up of that yummy pattern:

A pair of scissors, a sewing machine and LOTS of tegan and sara later, my swingin' sixties dress was born!

I used some scraps from my stash, and a handy zip from an old skirt. Please excuse my knobbly knees and frighteningly pale skin, we don't get any sun in Ireland!
