1  Re: come one! come all! post pics of your tattoos! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by archer*of*loaf on: November 01, 2006 01:53:38 PM
My newest.  I love, love, LOVE this tattoo!  It was done by Kara at Lark Street Tattoo in Albany, NY.  Don't mind the redness or the crappy old tattoo that sorely needs a touchup in the middle of my chest...I'm working on that this week possibly.

What do you guys think???

I never realized how hard it is to take a picture of your own forearm!!!  If this looks all crazy it's because I had to rotate it upside-down in a photo editing program.  My arm looks HUGE!!!  Oh and intergalacticj, when I went to have this done I brought the same picture you posted above.

3  Re: seed catalogs in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions by archer*of*loaf on: January 02, 2006 02:33:20 PM
I came across one picture that I had saved from two years ago.  I think I have more...I'll post later.

My great great grandfather planted these in his yard (now my grandmothers yard) and my mom took some of the seeds a few years back.  I love planting these around.  It's almost like spreading around a little bit of antiquity, if only in a few backyards.

4  Farmers market bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by archer*of*loaf on: December 27, 2005 01:34:18 PM
I can't believe that I was actually CRAVING  bag making after struggling through so many Christmas gifts in a VERY short period of time.  Anyway, I wanted to make something medium-size for my many, many trips to the farmers market.

The outside material is a faux suede in an olive green shade.  I lined it with Amy Butler fabric that I absolutely adore!  There's a hard plastic insert in between the lining and the bottom of the bag to keep it completely flat when the bag is full of stuff.  Yay for reusing plexi glass from an old poster frame!  Oh, and of course, a magnetic snap closure.

Sorry for the blurry lining picture.

The suede-like fabric is sooooo soft!  Wish I had more of it!!!  It was really hard to work with though.

I dont know, you guys, do you think the outside needs something?  A pin or a brooch or something to jazz it up a bit?

5  Re: Pyramid studs n' plaid bag for fall **NOW WITH TUTORIAL** very img heavy!! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by archer*of*loaf on: October 06, 2005 03:35:33 PM
Okay, so I followed your whole tute and wasn't crazy about my fabric choices in the end.  I hacked the entire thing apart and remodeled the bag.  I think the main problem with the original bag was that I used some of this really cool textured vinyl and it just didn't want to cooperate on the trim and corner areas.  So, I chopped the top trim off and removed the corners, took the fabric handles off and used plastic instead.

Front (with natural light):

Front (with lamp...my walls and the fabric aren't that vibrant...more of an eggplant shade):

So, be honest.  What do you think?  I made the bag bigger than the other bags posted here because I thought it would be a nice bag to take with me to the farmers market.  Perfect size.

I think next time I use a bit more detail along the top and I'll add the corners on.  This was more of a trial and error kind of thing.

6  Re: Short Hair in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by archer*of*loaf on: September 25, 2005 06:52:57 PM
Not sure how short you're talking here, but when I cut my hair off to donate to Locks for Love, I gave my hairdresser these pictures for my new haircut:

I'm not a huge Kirsten Dunst fan but I thought her hair was soooo cute when she cut it like this.  It's really, really easy to style it, and I have a round face so it's not a style limited to people who have Kirsten's facial shape.  My hair is almost back to where it was before I cut it.  I'm growing it out to donate again.

Please post pics when you've gotten your new 'do!  How exciting!!!

Okay, here's mine.  Sorry about the crappy photos but the flash kept washing out the darkness of the ink in my tattoos.  They're really not that faded, I swear!

My feet...just got 'em done and I took this picture the morning after my appointment.  Eww, they're all greasy and swollen:

My chest...it's amazing how hard it is to take a picture of your own chest.  Couldn't get the camera and timer just right.  Sorry the pic is so blurry:

My back...the OM in the middle was my first tattoo ever.  The initials on my left and right shoulder are my grandmother's initials:

And, last but not least, my arms.  These are my babies and the tats I'm most proud of:

Okay, I feel a little gross about posting now because my feet and ankles are a still swollen from getting the tattoo, but I know if I don't post now, it'll never happen.  I'm lazy like that.

So, here's what I wound up getting:

The Celtic Tree of Life!  Well, one version of it anyway.  I didn't realize that there are so many versions and interpretations of it.

a closeup.  Sorry they're so greasy!!!
