I only made these a couple of months ago but believe it or not there were some of my first works...the new dragon's eyes are so much better! I keep meaning to more paperweights but there's never enough time.

Something I just realized, hopefully you all can empathize- I started out using Kato but had been using premo a lot lately because I was short on time and wanted to save time on conditioning...and I realize now how much that really affects the ease of working with the clay! the premo is soft, but seriuosly soft. I was using some old Kato to make one of my new dragon's eyes and then Premo to make a different one and the difference was amazing. I guess I'm back to Kato   Roll Eyes

Hi Diane! Thanks for the welcome and the compliment....and yes, am having too much fun  Grin

I use rub'n buff a bit but mostly mica powders. An adding the powders is my final step before baking, so all assembly/texturing is done first. I am sure applying them before hand would be a mess as far as how getting the pieces to adhere to each other, all the surfaces would then have to be cleaned free of mica because it does go everywhere lol I use brushes sometimes, fingers sometimes, and sometimes makeup applicators, if it get's somewhere you really don't want it, alcohol will clean it right off. I like to use makeup applicators for the rubnbuff, but that's after baking for me.

I just think polymer clay is amazing stuff.

I will come back and post pics at a later date, I know I am the same way about having to click links.

534  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Hi All! new here... - pendants on: August 25, 2010 08:25:08 AM
And I love polymer clay! Wanted to stop by and say 'Hi', maybe say something about myself? I live in AZ, grew up in Indiana, and have been a OCD crafter for my whole adult life (how long that is I will not be saying Wink.  My biggest passions have been scroll sawing (used to design and sell painted woodcrafts), decorative concrete (it's a very forgivable medium, really), and polymer clay. I wonder sometimes where PC has been all my life but then I think it probably came along just when I was ready for it.

I make polymer clay pendants mostly, but also paperweights, and I'm sure i'll venture into other things at some point, but right now I love making pendants. Can't post pics yet...but here are a couple of links...
