21  Re: Fishies!!!! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by azreno on: February 28, 2011 09:37:37 AM
Thanks glitter  Grin Someone would just about have to be blind to not be inspired by Christi Friesen's work, she is such an amazing artist. But are these based on her work? No, her work and mine are so very different from each other. Christi's work is actually far more steampunk than mine, not to mention very organic, mine really just borders on steampunk and is really closer to industrial surrealism. I am completely enamored of making polymer clay resemble metal pieces and hardware.

on a lighter note....These are based on a real angelfish lol with industrial stuff throw in  Grin

for those that may have missed it....I'm in the current Polymercafe! You can find my first polymer clay tutorial in there as well as in depth interview with Joan Clipp, creator of Polymercafe Grin

26  Re: Steampunk eyeballs! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by azreno on: December 20, 2010 11:54:46 AM
thankyou =) I think I will be next year. I'm working on one right for the April polymer cafe, it'll be this piece

Once that's done I know I'll find tutorials easier to do. I used to do how-tos when I was doing scroll saw stuff but they didn't require a lot of pics and the process was pretty much always the same and used a pattern, so it's a bit different. So much of what I do is freeform, I had to sit and figure out how I made that shape lol

28  The octopus is done! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by azreno on: December 07, 2010 07:12:56 AM
I really couldn't be happier with how he turned out! He's not entirely finished here, missing his sealer but I have to show him off =) I'm really in awe of what I'm able to do when I put my mind to it, I keep looking at him, it's hard to believe I made him.

And I made some beads! I never really thought I would make beads lol Thought I'd leave that to the pro bead makers, they know what they're doing, they really do! But I have a request for earrings to match 2 pendants and I thought beads would be best. I know I'll try other methods to make earrings, too, but now I believe I will also start making loose beads, too =) They came out pretty cool.

29  Industrial Scraps?.......NOT in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by azreno on: November 30, 2010 08:01:42 AM
I absolutely love my mica powders! It's amazing what you can do, I LOVE the old rustic look of these pieces. All are made from black polymer clay and use a single real watch gear. Coloring comes from mica powders, rub'n buff metallic wax, and antiquing with black paint.

30  Steampunk Santas!! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by azreno on: November 24, 2010 05:12:51 AM
Check out my Santas! These were by far my most time consuming projects yet, they were very challenging but in a good way  Grin The right one is paired with a stick pin I made to go with my pieces. You pin it to your shirt or jacket, but use 2 pinches of fabric and hang the piece on the pin between the two pinches of fabric. I hope that makes sense, I have a pic of it and forgot to upload it.
