1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Plus Size Help!!! on: December 25, 2011 09:19:26 PM
To start off I am new to sewing. The reason why I wanted to sew was because I am plus sized and I have a pretty hard time shopping for DECENT clothing that IS NOT ugly. The drape of clothing on my chest, which measures at 56'', varies greatly. I am not a fan of showing off bosom and I do not do well with turtlenecks!

Digressing, I wanted to sew so my clothing would fit and be beautiful at the same time but I felt burned by the patterns that I find that STILL DO NOT carry my size Sad. I did check out Connie Crawford. There were some nice selections there but still limited. Any advice or know-how to alter commercial patterns??

(Retail I wear about 20-22)
Measurements are from top, waist, hip: 56", 48", 53"

Thanks so much in advance!
