1  UNITED STATES / Colorado / Crafty in the Springs? on: September 29, 2011 05:29:44 PM
Hey all, is there a regular group for sewing/beading/whathaveyou around Colorado Springs? I'm brand new to the area, and would love to connect with some other creative folk.

If not, let's start one?

Well, you have at least one guaranteed customer if you guys ever offer camera straps, because seriously, I am a big fan of your designs!

omg! Is there a snowball's chance in hell you guys do camera straps too? I don't have much interest in playing guitar, but I've been hunting high and low to find a more... to my tastes camera strap for a few months now.

First off, Rio Grande does not only sell to buinesses. I happily buy from them all the time.

Secondly, I actually really like getting supplies on Etsy.com, you can find a pretty reasonable selection of materials and you often times get good pictures of the item you're purchasing.

I also like Tierra Cast charms, they're really detailed and nice and sturdy. You can find them here: www.tierracast.com

I also buy from Firemountain Gems (www.firemountaingems.com)

Pick up some mineral oil; it's what I've always used for that sort of thing.

Either way, beautiful representation. I really like this!

bought them, unfortunately. I'm living in an apartment these days and can't do any casting or torch work here. Sad

You can find them on Etsy though!

Labradorite and silver. Can you ask for a better combination?

More labradorite.. it's a favorite of mine, and the flash on this necklace was extraordinary.

Champagne colored pearls and chandelier crystals, haha!

Abalone shell

More labradorite and more pearls

Labradorite, rutilated quartz, tourmalinated quartz, crystal, and a bit of silver, for good luck.

White gold cranes and the prettiest tourmalinated quartz briolettes I've ever laid eyes on.

Crystals and birds

I made one in purple, too.
