1  Clutches and things in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by iluvcrafting on: June 11, 2011 10:16:10 PM
I have been in a real crafting mood lately.  A couple weeks ago I was in Big Lot's and these place-mats begged to be purchased and used for anything other than place-mats.  It didn't hurt that they were $2 or $2.50ea.  So, here is what I've made so far:

Blue clutch outside, I have some blue denim left from another project that matched, so I made the flower:

The place-mats:

Blue clutch inside w/ring to attache chain to make handbag:

Animal print:

Hanging w/chain strap:

Sewing roll open:

I haven't decided what to make with the other two yet.  Any ideas or comments welcome.

2  Reversible Charlie bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by iluvcrafting on: June 11, 2011 10:00:02 PM
I made this bag and it will be a birthday gift for my Mother.  She will be doing some traveling this summer and I think this bag will travel well as she is out and about.  I made it by modifying the Charlie bag:

I modified the pattern by adding length to the handle, rounding the bottom and adding darts.  I also made it reversible and added a flower pin.  It doesn't show well in the picture, but one side dark blue light weight denim.

3  Re: TUTORIAL: Singlet Style Shopping Bag w Pattern (like the plastic shopping bag) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by iluvcrafting on: April 09, 2011 01:21:34 PM
Here is what your wonderful tutorial helped me make.  The only thing I modified is the length of the handles, I made mine longer.  I made a total of six and I love them and they are getting a lot of use.  I keep one in my purse just in case and the rest in the car. Thanks so much!

5  Re: Tutorial: Reversible tote bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by iluvcrafting on: January 11, 2011 07:18:03 PM
I finally figured out how to sew the straps. Next time I will use lighter fabric. The denim & upholstery fabric plus the interfacing made for difficult maneuvering. This my finished product:

6  My Boho Bag **Added matching wallet** in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by iluvcrafting on: October 31, 2010 09:18:37 PM
My first bag
My first pattern
My first Zipper

The pattern is the AnnaBoho bag, from BurdaStyle.  I am very proud of how it turned out.  I made some changes and added some things.  I added the inside pockets and zipper pouch. On the zipper pouch I used this tutorial and it was very easy to follow:

The change I made was the strap.  The pattern called for a wider strap, which would not work for me as I have narrow shoulders. So, I just folded the strap in half length wise and it worked out great.

Yes, your eyes do not deceive that is a purple zipper.  I felt everything was too color coordinated and that was where I added the color.  The raw cow hide on the side, bottom and tassels was a re-purposed skirt from the thrift store, I paid $2.  I have since been back on sale days looking for leather or suede. The brown upholstery fabric I purchased at the swap-meet for $1 a yard. I purchased 2 yards.  So I have a lot left, maybe I will attempt a matching wallet.

Matching wallet, I used the waist-band of re-purposed skirt.

Thanks for looking.  Comments and critique welcome.

7  husband's tie to sunglass holder in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by iluvcrafting on: October 11, 2010 09:43:23 PM
Sorry, I forgot to take before picture of the tie.  Here is the finished product.

back w/snap loop to attache to my purse. I thought of the loop after completed, so had to hand sew.  It is the best part, because easy access on and off in a hurry without having to dig around in my big bag.

8  Cover for my Sony e-reader in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by iluvcrafting on: October 11, 2010 02:11:45 PM
I have a red Sony touch e-reader w/cover and light.  I love the color, but needed a change.  The change needed to compliment the red and still offer the protection and light I currently have. I did some stitching on some of the flowers to add texture. This is the finished product and I am ever so happy!
