thanks.  you should have seen the process.  not so very professional.  fewer seams ripped out than previous projects though.  so that's progress.

So my great grandmother's jacket became a casualty to a painting project.   Cry

But the frugal Depression survivor that she was, I know she'd want it to find a new life.  And so it did, as a computer bag.  Thanks to all the tutes for various messenger style bags, I came up with this...

front and obligatory pen pocket

inside pockets in action

ooooh.  comfort quilting

I agree.  It's great as is for normal wear.  But it's also a great blank canvas for a belt, funky broach, scarf, etc.  And it's simple enough that you can go as wild as you want.

Very cute.  I love the photo montage as well.  I like how the holes in the plastic kind of look like teeth.

That is awsome!  And kudos to granddaddy for having the attitutde to sport it.

I love the neckline on it.  And that ribbing is a great way to show off your great post-pregnancy waist.  Don't mind my jealous thoughts.   Wink

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet or not, but you might need to seal the baseboards.  They make a special paint/sealant that you can use.  It's just that cat pee can soak through the base boards and switching the carpet might not be enough to dissuade your lovely kittens to not continue the process.  Cats are lucky they're so fuzzy cuz they sure can be trouble, especially with their noxious pee.

As the bean bags were ginormous, (14 cu. ft. and counting) I went with the packing peanuts.  They worked pretty well, although are a bit noisy.  I'm sure they'll break down a bit with use.  But then we'll just put some more in.  But I think they work well for something that doesn't need a definite shape.
