61  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: build a bear clothes??? on: August 18, 2010 10:12:27 AM
would cabbage patch kid clothes fit them?
If so there are lots of commercial sewing patterns available for them.
Many vendors of Build-a-Bear compatible clothing tend to state that it fits Cabbage Patch Kids too, so I'm almost certain that the reverse is also true. Smiley

Good gracious, that Meat Loaf doll (Plush Loaf? Tongue) is so heart-meltingly cute, as is the painting. (I'm a bit of a fan myself, too, and Bat Out of Hell is probably one of my all-time favourite songs by anybody. Smiley )

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get to meet Meat Loaf, but I'm glad that you got to be in the front row, got to take home a pick and a drumstick, and got to meet his daughter and her husband. It sounds like it was a really great night!

I don't know where you can get them, but they look a little like the "Darice Doll Head" that's linked to in this thread, to me. Could this be the name that you're looking for?

*SO* cute! I have to say that I think your niece's pig is much cuter-looking than the example picture on the website that the pattern came from! Smiley

Absolutely fantastic - you have a very lucky niece.

They're adorable, and I think that their mouths give them a lot of personality. I personally find that embroidering mouths well can be tricky, but you've done a great job.

Thanks so much for mentioning the book that their pattern came from, too - I'm always looking to expand my collection, and I'm going to have to track that one down.

Oskar has so much personality - where would we be without mad scientists, eh? Tongue I especially love his goggles and boots, and his hair is absolutely perfect, too. Your post describing him just tops off the whole package perfectly. Smiley

I've never quite been able to figure out how to best use synthetic fur for hair on dolls - if you don't mind my asking, how did you make and attach his hair?
67  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Introducing My Pretty Punkin, new pattern from ghilie on: August 18, 2010 07:28:37 AM
I'm seeing sooooo much potential for all sorts of creations, here. Thankyou very, very much for making this pattern and the instructions available, ghilie - it's very generous of you.

I'll have to make use of this one when I have the free time!

Oh, wow, I love these.

I think I recognise the look of the wonderful very-pink-dog... Smiley Does the pattern happen to be from "The Splendid Soft Toy Book" by Erna Rath, by any chance?
