21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Those 70's Shorts, that 70's skirt and a jersey dress on: May 21, 2008 12:55:33 PM
Everything is so cute! I'm definitely envious of those shorts!

It's definitely kind of conservative, but it's still around knee length, so it's not that bad. Right now I'm at a stage in school where they don't give us that much freedom, so mini skirts are out. I think I'll pair it with some opaque tights a t-shirt to dress it down a little.

Project I recently completed for school. First project I've gotten all possible points on:

High waisted skirt with yoke and pleat. The fabric is an old bed sheet I found at goodwill that doesn't wrinkle, ever.
24  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Casette Tape Cases on: April 26, 2007 05:45:58 PM
My boyfriends record label is putting out a cassette tape by the band The Capstan Shafts. He asked me to help with the packaging.

They're made from recycled toilet paper rolls that have been folded and machine stitched together on the sides. After that we had to go back and loosen up the stitches so the tapes would fit in.
The band drew the art work which we made into stickers and stuck on the front of the tape cases and the side
The red line is just a cute decorative paint job
The tapes have all been hand dubbed
Only 100 copies were released because it was a lotttt of work

DIY!

I made a halter top out of this quite awhile ago. It's been reborn in dress form (pun intended):
It actually looks a whole lot better on me.

Hi! This is really pretty!

Pardom my lame brain...  Lips sealed -- But do you now have two dresses from this fabric or did you re-do the halter dress to make this one? Do you have the halter dress posted here?  Wink

I now have a halter top (just a shirt, not a halter top dress) and this dress. I'll see if I can find the halter top around here somewhere later.

I used Butterick 4973. While this pattern was super quick (a few hours at the most) to make it did give me a lot of problems. I wouldn't reccomend it if you're bad at reading patterns like I am.
