1  UNITED STATES / Nevada / Re: Creative Embroidery Conference - Las Vegas on: August 16, 2010 11:52:22 AM
Did anyone else go this year to Las Vegas?  Finally went for the first time.  Its in the work week so I never made an effort before.  So this time I was able to go to one day of it.  Went to a lecture on printing photos onto fabric, another on stabilizers, another on transforming sweatshirts (great now that its 90+ here), and an intro to Angelina.  All talks were good.  Shopping area was small and specialized...so it depended on your area of interest.
ust curious to hear if others go and go for the whole session find it worthwhile.

I went for the entire session and got a lot out of it.  Definitely worth it. Just a little recommendation for those that are traveling from out of town- make your Las Vegas Fitzgeralds Hotel reservations early.  They fill up fast with this and many other conventions, meetings, conferences etc.
We stayed at the Las Vegas Flamingo Hotel and loved it.  All around great conference and great time in Vegas!

Hotel Anaheim
For those traveling on the road from outside the L.A. basin to the event - the weather's supposed to be brutal on Friday, with snow over the mountain passes and expected road closures. There aren't any mountains within an hour or 2 of Anaheim (except, of course, Space Mountain and The Matterhorn Tongue) so most of y'all will be safe. Aside from flooding, of course. Travel safely!
