12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Necklace stand with brief tutorial on: August 24, 2010 08:16:52 PM
I made this necklace stand in about 10 minutes tonight to display some of my new jewelry.

Supplies:

Needle Nose Pliars
Scissors
Wire Cutters
Duct Tape
Wire Hanger
Padded Velvet (from a torn up old Christmas stocking in my case)

Step 1:  Clip off about 7 inches off the bottom of the hanger, and shape hanger by pending back the hook to make a stand.  Then bend the rest into a circle.  Duct tape the ends together and bend the circle back a little to create a stand frame.

Step 2:  Cut your velvet (or other padded cloth) so that you have a piece a couple inches wider than the circle made by your hanger.  Wrap the fabric tightly around the back and duct tape.  Don't skimp on the tape, it gives the stand a bit of strength for heavier pendants.  Take a small strip of the left over velvet and wrap around part of the exposed wire for a cleaner look.

Display your jewelry!

Oh wow, that is very pretty.  The blue bead kind of looks like a vial

15  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Gay Pride Earrings on: August 18, 2010 06:32:37 PM
A pair of rainbow earrings I made tonight.  Just got some supplies in so I wanted to go ahead and put something together.

They are twisty when they hang straight down, but I couldn't get the camera to focus in on them that way.

16  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Wire wrapped gemstones on: August 18, 2010 05:39:39 PM
I wrapped some of the gemstones I ordered to use as pendants.  I'll be making a lot of jewelry coming up for a craft event in October, so be prepare for the onslaught of threads with pictures.

Stones are wrapped with silver plated steel using needle nosed pliers.  I was impressed with the wire.  My pliers aren't plastic tipped and I didnt scratch the wire up much at all.

That one has been given as a gift, but the next time I make one, I'll take more pictures.

I love that it is not the normal Christmas colors... I think I'll make one in black and blue.
20  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Completed fairy creature costume with tons of huge pics. I mean a TON. on: August 18, 2010 12:30:46 AM
Best fairy costume ever... this looks like the fairies I think of.. not the garish neon things.
