Sooo .. I had my textiles AS retake today, for design, and it was to come up with innovative designs related to food & drink   so, i used the theme of international cuisine and came up with these initial ideas:

Ok, so along with a bazillion other coursework i decided to make my ball dress, i used Butterick 6463, and wanted to add some detail, but realised that if i added anything else it wouldn't look right. so this is how it turned out. the lining on the inside is a slightly lighter pink.


This random woman came up to me and asked me where i got it because she loved it that made my night.

However, after an extremely drunken ball the slit is now 7inchs higher  yes indeed, therefore i have to repair it before i wear it again

haha, well my waist isn't very defined, but ye this top is pretty it was an old skirt, so i just redid the seams to fit me, tied some ribbon round ...... i wanna wear it as a dress with tights, however, im quite worried i may get slightly cold tonight, what do you think?!?

So, for my first year of a-level our coursework was to design and create an item ifluenced by fashion in the 20th century. i chose the 1970s, hence the big collar and big sleeves.... the lining is the hot pink you can see in the inside of the collar and sleeves and the buttons are made from the same material, as is the piping around the sleeves.

Wooo, well my school ball is in around a month and a week, and im making the following dress, does anyone know of a pattern that looks pretty similar? i am awful at looking for patterns!! does anyone have any tips?!?!

So i brought a long sleeved top to reconstruct, black and boring, but i turned it into a top like an old one i used to have *that i grew to big for ...sob... * i then stencilled the words and the picture on, which was a mission, as this is the first stencil picture i've ever done!!! I used a mix of acrylic paint and fabric medium....

Ok, so it was going to be a dress *except i took the pattern from a stretch dress - and silly me didnt allow for that ;p* then it was going to be a pinafore * ala http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=107286.0, however on me it made me look like a sack of potatoes* so we opted for a high waisted skirt instead - >
