gozer and I got impatient waiting for the ATC Theme Swap to start so we did a personal swap. My theme was Star Wars ABC's and she sent me amazing cards for J and Q:

I finally finished my Granny Circle blanket. I had to frog it a few times and do some math to get the increases right. Sneaky crochet, making me think!

I got some stupendous cards last night:

A cute monster (my first in this theme) from bunny1kenobi. Isn't she a scream?  Her name is Fifi and I adore her!



A grungy, fabulous artist's choice card from jillybeans. The image is stamped with a gloss crackle on top. Awesome technique, it's like getting something from Tim Holtz! She also sent some yummy patterned papers to play with.



And two from Mountains and Clouds for my state/hometown theme. One is a gorgeous sunset view of three of the Hawai'ian islands. The other represents her hometown, Dousman, Wisconsin, which is home to the state Frog-Jumping contest. The things people do for fun, amiright?

I haven't been commenting much for the last month or so because of a lot going on in my personal life. My 30-year-old husband had a heart attack at the beginning of May and it's been a lot of out-of-town doctor's appointments and procedures since then on top of an already busy month with friends and church events. My hubby's fine now, but I didn't feel much like talking when everything was going on. I have, however, been keeping up with reading this thread and I really love everything everyone's done and all the progress everyone's made in their destashing efforts.
I've also been busy with a lot of crochet and art journaling (which is so theraputic). I finally finished this blanket (not from stash) and I had a bit of yarn left over so I made a hat and booties:



My son also insisted that he needed a penguin with a green beak and feet:



It's funny that the color theme for June is rainbows because this is what I was working on (mostly from stash) while my husband was having a heart procedure in the hospital:



I'm also working on another rainbow blanket, a Granny Mandala. Sorry for the pic overload, but I had a lot of catching up to do!

I loved Rainbow Brite as a kid so when I saw this pattern I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I had most of the colors on hand so this was a pretty cheap project. Most of the blanket was made while I was sitting in the waiting room of the hospital during my husband's heart procedure. It was a nice distraction and I was able to talk craft with others who were waiting.





I guess I've had rainbows on the brain lately! 

My sister-in-law recently had a baby boy and I thought he deserved his own hand-made blankie. Plus I needed a challenge and this project was a lot of fun. I love the textures of this blanket and the intersting patterns. I used this pattern on Ravelry.

I used Bernat Baby Coordinates Yarn because my friend's son has a baby blanket made of the stuff and she says it's virtually indestructible. I like the way it looks but it was difficult to work with because it's a sort of boucle and the wispy bits kept getting caught on my hook (I used an H).



It's cushy soft and my sil loves it so that's a win!

I've been out of town for a week, so I haven't done much crafting. Everyone's crafts look so wonderful! When the weather gets warm again, I'll get started on some spring cleaning too. My house needs it badly!

My bookmark swap has wrapped up so I'll share the bookmarks I made. The only thing I bought was some StazOn ink for stamping. It didn't make a dent in my paper stash at all.
