1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: business plan on: June 06, 2011 05:29:36 PM
I'm a gigantic fan of the one page business plan.

Long link - good sample!

2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: What do you do for a living? on: January 18, 2011 08:06:46 AM
I'm in marketing, mainly on-line work. It's a great way to get out some creativity and still pay the bills. Crafting sometimes has to take a back seat - but when I do create something cool - at least I know how to sell it!

If you're not super-strapped for cash, tasking some time to learn blogging, and internet monitization might be a good way for you to build up a craft-related income.
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Embroidery Hoopla Round 2 Gallery! (SendOut 11/15/10) on: November 13, 2010 11:52:55 AM
Man Alive these are all so fantastic!

I sent mine to thatbluesea yesterday - I really hope she likes it!  The insane talent on Crafster never ceases to amaze me - but I'm having some serious performance anxiety!
4  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Pumpkin lasagna, super cozy! (Pic heavy) on: November 12, 2010 05:22:55 AM
Just make this last night. Mine turned out much paler, but was absolutely delicious! What an incredible flavour!

Sadly, my boss is down on the swap idea. which is an awful shame, I really like the work you two do! Such is life, I guess, when you work with other people's materials.

hgddm: That's a fantastic idea! I'll have to run it by my boss though - he's the technical owner of the crystals. I'd never considered that possibility - Thank you!
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: 5-strand Braid Bracelets (Hogwarts House Colors) on: November 04, 2010 07:45:13 AM
The 5-strand Braid is so fun - I don't think I've ever actually seen one before. I like how it spaces the colors differently. Very cool!

That watch-case collage is fantastic! I especially love the cameo.

A few weeks ago I posted my "8000 Crystals" Dilemma, and got some great advice. I've managed to turn a few of them into pieces I think are workable.

Wire and Snowflakes

Wire and Leaves

Chain and Leaves

The Cruel Sea and a Pyramid

If anyone has any suggestions for more/better uses for these crystals or...anything, let me know! Thanks!
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Wild Cherry on: October 28, 2010 12:17:34 PM
I made these guys forever ago and finally took pictures of them.

Cherry Earrings

And Cherry Necklace (modeled by my candy-chicken - I'm sorry he's sideways, but he's kind of a diva)

I wear these pretty much every day. What do you think of the necklace cord? I can't make up my mind if I like it or If I want to change it up for a chain / ribbon / daisy chain...
