The Hat and I went to the BDM again on Saturday to check out the Alleged Hat Cameo...

Jayne does wear a hat with earflaps when they go to Beaumont, but it is not The Hat, as far as I could tell. This one 'pears to have colorwork, looks kinda Tibetan maybe?

It's on screen very briefly, easy to miss unless you're looking for it.

Ack! I missed the Hat cameo!

I shall have to go see the BDM again, oh no!

beatnik_chik, your hats look super cunning!

I didn't have Jayne Hat #4 finished in time so that I could wear it to the DC midnight showing what all the browncoats was at, (I was knitting during the previews) but I shall wear it next time, o yes!

I did have three very happy Big Damn Hat recipients... one even wrote me a song!

"She knits cunning hats
From yarn of such beauty
If she be a pirate
Craig Parker be her booty
Our love for her now
Ain't so hard to tell
The Hero of the Beltway
The woman they call Kel!"

(Not sure how Craig Parker got in there, other than we've had a long running joke about Craig Parker's Pants...)

WE'RE #2! WE'RE #2!

Jayne 3.0 made and delivered to a happy recipient! I'll have to get pictures of it next weekish Wink

I made the earflaps 16 stitches wide instead of 20... I think I might do 18 on the next one since they do roll in a bit.
I also spaced the flaps farther apart in front... looks pretty cunning!  Grin

Now I finally get to start on MINE to wear tomorrow! (Of course mine shall be the most cunning since I have figured out all the tricksy bits by doing the first three, muhaha!)

Hi Joanne- ditto what the illustrious Emisan said... and if you're doing the whole thing on dpns it's likely to look wonky until you get about 10 rounds into it or so and it calms down Wink

Now THAT is a very cunning hat!

I was looking at the Jayne hat screencaps again today to see what the earflaps looked like... that hat is so big on AB it's hard to tell, hee hee  Grin

Yup, not only do I got Big Damn Earflaps, I got Big Damn Eyeballs Wink

Ah ha! Further back, you say? I shall have to do some figgerin' on that.  Grin

Jayne 2.0!

This shows the colors better.
I made the orange stripe 1/2" narrower on this one, not that you can tell from the pictures...

I think I'm going to slim down the earflaps on the next one.
I have a big head and these are some Big Damn Earflaps. Wink

I was extra pleased with the little flippy bits on the ends.  Grin

Oh, and this 'un was 72 CO since I got 3.5-ish sts to the inch on US 10.75. The Creative Focus comes in chunky, but of course we only got in 2 of the 3 colors in the chunky! Wink

How's it sit?

I feel quite cunning!

(The colors aren't quite this bright in real life, especially the yellow, which is more of a natural golden color. But you get the idea.  I did mine based on Emisanboo's pattern in Nashua Creative Focus Worsted (used double) in Goldenrod, Pumpkin, and Copper.)

I now have to knit 4 more before Friday, since everyone else wants one!
