1  Re: Cobblestone Pullover anyone? IK Fall '07 in Knitalongs by shopdaughter on: January 13, 2008 09:51:39 PM
I finished mine just before Christmas.  I've been neglecting craftster due to ravelry so I never posted pics, but here they are Wink
I wish you could see the detail better, but of course I had to pick a dark color  Roll Eyes  DH does like it, though, and of course he's a goof. . .

Here's my progress.  Not much more than before but I'm at the point where I have to start on the sleeves.  Slowly but surely I'll get this done by X-mas.  I wish I had the will power to do just 1 project at a time LOL

I wish I were smart enough to alter the pattern top down.  *sigh* maybe next time. . .

3  My turn for pumpkins in Knitting: Completed Projects by shopdaughter on: October 08, 2007 08:18:23 PM
After seeing these http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=195419.0  I *had* to use up my scraps.  Soooo easy and QUICK!!!

http://www.curlypurly.com/pumpkin.html

For the gourd, I just decreased to 3 sts and did about an inch in I-cord and really pulled tight through it to make it a little more bumpy and inconsistant.  The solid orange is cascade 220, the flecked orange is an Ella Rae cotton, and the gourd is Patagonia cotton.  I just need to add sticks to the pumpkins for stems Wink

4  Re: Wicked from Zephyr Style in Knitalongs by shopdaughter on: October 08, 2007 08:13:27 PM
Oooo!!  I love the tapestry!!  It's going to be STUNNING when complete!!!

Here's my first Wicked ~ I'm almost done w/my second (just need the ever dreaded sleeves)

My first sweater, EVER!!  I used Malabrigo worsted in Burgundy and Lettuce for the trim.

Bottom of my wicked, I didn't want the seed stitch since I didn't make the pocket and I added about 4 inches to the pattern ~ I've got a really long torso. . .

6  Re: Stitch marker holder in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by shopdaughter on: October 08, 2007 06:32:50 AM
Michael's & Walmart sell pocket sized plastic cases.  Kind of like a pill box but they have different sized compartments.  I'll post a pic of mine in a bit.  Or, maybe you could use a lone DPN with point protectors on the ends?

They are called "contain its" and they come in a variety of shapes and sizes, not too big, though.  The nice thing is, they are small enough to fit into my accessory bag  Wink  And the best part?  They're only a buck!!!

7  A hat for Eiley ~ now w/pattern in Knitting: Completed Projects by shopdaughter on: October 07, 2007 10:55:36 AM
My daughter Eiley requested a purple hat.  I didn't want it to be the typical run of the mill hat, but I also didn't want it to be too challenging that I'd never finish it.  So, I "designed" an old skool ski hat like my Grampy wore way back when.  I used Cascade 220 Quattro and size 8 16" Addis and size 8 DPNs.  Eiley loves it Wink even if it's close to 90 today and she's wearing a Speedo LOL

*please bear in mind this is my first time sharing one of my patterns*
Materials:
any worsted weight yarn will do, I used Cascade 220 Quattro 1 hank and had a little over a golf ball sized ball left over even after the pompom.

Size 8 16" circular needles and size 8 DPNs

CO 96 sts with circular needle (switch to DPNs when it gets too tight), join for working in the round ~ do not twist Wink , and place marker so you know where you began.

Work K1P1 rib for 8 rounds

Knit 10 rounds

Round 19: *K14 K2tog* to end

Round 20-29: Knit

8  Re: Clapotis from Knitty in Knitalongs by shopdaughter on: October 07, 2007 10:50:11 AM
I finished this about a month ago, a day late & a dollar short is the story of my life. . .

I used Blue Heron Soft Rayon Twist 525yds plus about 10 yds from my mother's hank, and size 6 needles.  I admired this pattern from the moment it was on Knitty, but for whatever reason I was terribly intimidated.  What a dummy girl I am!  It was so easy!!

Here it is being modeled by my girls and a close up ~ no, I haven't blocked  Roll Eyes

9  I made a Wicked in 1.5 hrs! in Knitting: Completed Projects by shopdaughter on: October 05, 2007 03:44:00 PM
Okay, so it's a mini Wicked, but a Wicked nonetheless.  I used Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino color 002 and size 3 DPNs.  I CO 36 sts and worked as for the real Wicked, but downsized everything.  I didn't do the pocket b/c I really didn't want to do the math for it LOL  The best part?  It literally took 1.5 hours from start to finish even figuring out the sorta math I did.  I'm also not pleased that I should have done more cable repeats for the actual "cable" to show up. . . Oh well.
